Just curious if anybody here keeps up with what's current.
It's fun to look back (oldies but goodies) but music is something
that doesn't stand still. New technology versus the yet unheard
creations. I've had this thought that all the great music has already
been created but I'm not so sure these days. New rhythms seem
to emerge on a daily basis. I'm seeing more and more of my massive record/
CD collection heading for the recycling bin. I'm at the record/CD collecting
crossroads...I realize that I have a whole bunch of shit I could care
less about yet it has some value...to someone but not me. Send me your
requests for used vinyl or CD's and I'll give you a good deal.

You know Krink when I was younger I vowed to not end up like my old man. That is, not being stuck listening to music when you were younger. Well, now that I'm older I have to admit that I'm ending up more and more like my father. I used to keep up with newer material but now I no longer do so. Now, that's not to say I don't want to listen to new stuff. It's just now it takes somebody to point me to it. A good friend of mine recently introduced me to some really cool smooth jazz music that I wouldn't have bothered to discover had it not been for my buddy.

I think that unless you really devote some time to stay current, it's much harder than it used to be, when you had Top 40 AM and progressive rock FM stations, among other things. You might find those types of stations in the big metropolis areas but not out in the hinterlands, where some of us are. There's that and over time, other obligations got in the way, it just didn't seem so important as it once did. I mean, I once read Rolling Stone and other publications cover to cover, I really did.

This youngster is probably old hat to Buckethead but
a fresh face to many. 15 year old MattRach.

Beck is another musician that I've tried to ignore but he keeps
coming up with some interesting stuff. Saw a PBS concert a while
back with Beck and am intrigued. Think he'll be around a while.
Gamma Ray is catchy.

Richard Cheese sounds like a fun person to see in concert.
He's close friends with Adam Corolla and Jimmy Kimmel so you
know he's fucking insane. Noticed also he collaborated with
MST3K's Mike Nelson for a CD. This video made me laugh.

I cant the shit they play on the radio now a daze....Even the classic rock stations will cut the long tunes down...

I stick with my iPod and put it on shuffle....If not that, I will play the music on demand station and usually will hear shit Ive never heard before...Good stuff, too....
