Police: Train mooned after nearly hitting man3:44 PM, May. 5, 2011  
MADISONVILLE - An Indiana & Ohio train conductor had to go
 into full emergency-stop mode Wednesday after a 45-year-old man stood
in the middle of the tracks and refused to get out of the way as the
train came barreling down the tracks in Madisonville.


     Police reports and court records say that the train came within 5 feet of
striking Terry Stanford, who then proceeded to pull down his pants and
moon the train personnel.

Records say that when the conductor got off the train, Stanford pushed him.

Stanford of Holloway Avenue in Evanston, was taken to the jail on assault and
disorderly conduct while intoxicated charges. Stanford was also cited
for probation violations on an original charge that involved being
disorderly while intoxicated.

A spokesman for the Hamilton County Sheriffs Office said Stanford has been to jail 40 times in June 1999.

I remember dock trains that they said were overloaded, maximum speed 25 MPH.

Our rail trains used to be 30 MPH, 193 miles of that in the middle of the night is a very rough trip.

Don'tcha just love reading 'shortline' news? Interesting story. Now if he'd done that on a Class-I outfit... The enginner mighta been responsible for going inta 'full stop emergency,' or just turned his drunk ass inta lunch meat for the scavengers ta pick up later.

I always wonder with the "intoxicated" is how much alcohol
was consumed to pull a stunt like that.
