Are there BBQ experts on here? You americans might refer to it as grillin, but I am thinking about switching to charcoal, any idea's, preferences ? 

I am looking at starting out with this one

I have one, my neighbor has one, actually everyone I know that uses charcoal has one. They are the iphone of grills.

Well I bought one, and it was ok. definitely takes more time to get going than propane. Its gonna take some practice that's for sure.

I have a 50 gal drum bbq. been playing with lump charcoal instead of biquettes. Adds versitility.

Sometimes a use the instant light briskets, they are alot easier. Once you get use to it Steam it isnt so bad

I use a chimney too, and the lump charcoal. I bought hardwood , and mesquite lump charcoal, and the mesquite definitely lights up well. Its a matter of getting them going and some of the pieces are way to large so they dont get lit up well in the chimney
