I listen to KPLU every day/night. Jazz is the only music I can still enjoy.

When you mention "Jazz" it can mean a dozen different things to a

dozen different persons. KPLU and the "staff" are "very good" at

giving the listeners the best sample of "what the music is".  None of

this "easy jazz" shit. You can hear Miles Davis tracks spread throughout

the day ( The man issued a 100LPs and I have 93 of them) and John

Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, and all the rest of the best.

I havent yet had a chance to review the 900+LPs list to see what I'm

lacking. I know I got half the list covered already.

I got a couple Lalo Schifirin LP's. Dint hang around long doing jazz.
Went head-first into TV and Movie soundtrack music. Great name
to just "bring-up" Buckethead.

More 'different' music outa Africa... Mali ta be exact. Right up there in the Sahel region, below the Sahara... Two heavy cats who've managed to build a following in Europe, especially after playing concerts in Belgium and France... Wonderful acoustic music!

I picked up a CD called "Piano, Strings, and Bossa Nova" from Lalo Schrifrin (1962). Top quality stuff! Makes deadheading far more tolerable.
