There is a #1 board for Engineer School. Who ever makes the best scores all the way thru gets his name on a plaque that hangs in the hallway

that everyone can see when they enter the building. It has all the engineer classes on it since the award began.

Oh yea, You get a CSX Locomotive Engineer hat, just like all the rest, but there's a big #1 sewn on the front.

When you don't think things are going right, just ride it out. It'll probably (maybe) turn out ok and nobody will ever know. Or not.  As long as your BOT doesn't look nervous, it must be ok.

Young vultures are already eyeballing my job. New BOT who I know well was giving me schitt all night about how he is glad I am out of his way. At the party last night, a conductor was complaining about how we have to put together trains as compared to other terminals. I asked him if he was getting paid well? I let him know that our pool is the highest paid pool on CSX and we get to sleep in our own beds everyday so quit his bitchin.

Never use dymatic brakes in the yard. Even when setting over 10,000 tons on a grade with no air.

Engine brake always works just fine. The main line on the other end of the yard is protected by a derailer and a stop signal.
