Those darn "Food Processors"...what were they thinking?

That the average "drive-thru " patron would be even

thinking of the possibilty of "horsemeat" in their burger.

"Look up pink slime, lean finely textured beef, LFTB, soylent pink, or beef in ... the U.S. to food companies which use it as a filler product in ground beef production. ... "

It's likely that horse meat makes a better tasting and healthier patty. Little bit of MSG for flavour . What the heck ?

I can tell you that the only way to "know" what you're eating,
is to grow it yourself and cook it yourself. I've done the grow
in organic ways, fresh-dug carrots, half-dozen baby beets,
baby potatoes, 10 minutes from the garden and into tonights
dinner. That's as good as it gets. Now the "Meat Department"
in todays world is a more "nebulous" situation. I buy whole
chickens mostly (Draper Valley) and Foster Farms 85/15
ground turkey. The rest of the meat world...I wont go there
now.

Yep...buy local chicken and turkey on occasion. Draper Valley is a local poultry outfit, with farms up north (of Krink), and in Oregon.
Foster Farms is another pretty good outfit as well.

Animal protein is a big deal for me... Finding good meat is a daily thing. Boycotting big, fast food...is a given. But the occasional burger from "Red Mill" seems okay! (Gotta ease off on the 'fries' though...). Damn things tempt the best in ya... Starch. Sugar. Fat!

Fuck it... Gotta have fries with a bacon-cheese deluxe burger!
