I think you missed it. He's BLET, CSX, right on about Brother Monin, and quite the BLET CSX-South gadfly/thorn in their side. Anyway, Casey - the union scab was a song about the insular nature of craft unions representing parochial crafts versus Industrial Worker Unions like the Wobblies representing all industrial workers united. (ISRC, that is.)

Brother Wright believes all crafts on the rails need to unite as one. In hindsight, the Scab UTerUs would have been dead by now if the second proposal had gone through. Snippy voted against.

This JackAss is calling Engineers scabs, when the utu is the one who has given the Hostler, Fireman, Flagman, head and rear Brakeman away?

The same utu that stole the Engineers job in the Yard with RCO??

He doesn't mention a word about the 2 consecuative utu international presidents who have been sentanced to and done Federal Jail time!

He doesnt mention the two occasions when utu went before the NMB and tried to do away with the Engineer craft on Class 1 railroads.!

He doesnt mention the times utu has went before the NMB and got the engineer craft thrown away on the Tex-Mex railroad (And other smaller railroads).

He doesn't mention when the utu did away with conductors on the QNS&L, then DOVETAILED the remaining roster. (seniority was changed

to date of hire in train service. Old conductors went ahead of established Engineers)

The main reason the merger didn't happen was that BLET would have given thier right to a Democratic vote away forever and be controlled

by the "other" union that outnumbered us 2 to 1.

Perhaps the BLET should give the SMART guys a "merge or else..." ultimatum like the utes did. The writing is on the wall. Trip Optimizer, PTC....one man crew is coming.

Just wait (actually it was hide and see) and see. You haven't heard the last of T&E Employee yet.

They have everything to lose.

If hawgs take over on the road, all thats left is the yard.

They done let the company prove they can take a man off the street and in 2 weeks have him switching cars with the best of 'em.

The new Yard service employee craft will be a new craft paying just above minimum wage with no benefits.

I still like how we did it at IH. All crafts worked as one. Strike pay was the same for everyone. Union Dues, tu hours pay a month. If you was the Janitor or the highest paid machinist, same representation. We was one.

We had a brother electrician who was very active with RWU, and a commited member as well as the local chairman for Interbay's sparkies... Still pluggin' away down at the roho, and workin' hard for a united craft group.

We've seen the result of SMART. The few pipefitters were encouraged by the RWU happs they read, but fell for something they were sold instead of aligning with other shopcraft grunts... I have my doubts about the machinists and electricians ever agreeing on anything going forward! And the carrier loves that they're not united!

Much easier ta control separate...
