What ever came from the suit utu waged on BLE over the VIA Engineers seniority when CN and CP refused allowing Via hawgs to come back to the freight side.

Or did that go away when utu got voted out of Canada?

Hawgs can go back to freight under the transfer agreement now, only if they can no longer hold at VIA. This will not likely ever happen because we are talking about hawgs qualified before 1982. The new breed are generally hired off the street or trained up from other departments. The suit you refer to was more about the tail end crews jobs being done away with. There are only "on board service" personal" back in the train, now". All transportation department operating rules responsibilities are on the 2 Hawgs. The conductors/brakies were put out on the street until the ruling came down giving them Engineer training and seniority dates cut in as of the the day of implementation of the changes. Dozens got big backdate payouts from BLE & VIA and then trained up to work Hawg. Some took golden handshake pension buyouts and a few that could not cut the hawg training disappeared I don't know where.
