I started collecting everything that had to do with
railroads back in 1966 as that seems to be where
most of my collection begins. I wrote a letter to the
AAR asking for anything like train schedules maps
and shit back in 1966. They responded with the
greatest package of shit I ever recieved. Probly the
best thing was an Official Guide of the Railways
May 1965 issue. So anyway in 1966 all the freight
roads were still doing passenger trains too. Remember
the GN/BN using the SDP-40's on the Seattle-Vancouver BC
run until BN bowed out of the passenger train business
except around Chicago. So in 1966 it seems every railroad
that was in the passenger train business re-issued a new
timetable/schedule in 1966 and I'm not sure why I got so
many of them. I notice some have a travel agency stamp
from Bham on them. Probly walked in there one day and took
one of everything they had.
