Subway will remove additive found in plastics from its bread after bloggers online petition 

'Food Babe' blogger Vani Hari garnered more than 50,000 signatures for her online petition asking Subway to remove azodicarbonamide, a flour bleaching agent linked to respiratory issues and allergies, from its sandwich bread. The company then released a statement saying it is 'already in the process' of taking out the ingredient.

A crusading blogger has compelled Subway to remove a chemical additive from its sandwich bread.

Vani Hari, who blogs under the handle "Food Babe," started anonline petition Tuesday demanding the fast-food giant stop using azodicarbonamide in its bread after she discovered it is also used in yoga mats, shoe soles and synthetic leather.

In just 24 hours, Hari's petition, titled "Subway: Stop Using Dangerous Chemicals In Your Bread," garnered more than 50,000 signatures. The chain also received a firestorm of comments on its Facebook page.

Subway is the premier fast-deli food franchise. Yep all those deli-meats
full of all the reasons why you cant force yourself to buy them at the
supermarket...well I dont buy or eat any of that stuff. I havent seen
a sanwhich advertised on TV that wasn't just a bunch of garbage on
a different bun. I've had many issues with the "current standards"
in the bread isle in every store you go to for a long time now.
Make your own bread with a bread-machine. Most great tasting
breads usually have about 6-7 ingredients.
