You'd think employee ownership would dictate another location for that SkullBuster.

Hey, they could have put the 5-chime SkullBusterŪ on the short hood and had a few trumpets pointing towards the cab.

Nathan K5 SkullBusters are Locomotive Air Horns that are legendary in their normal mode of operation, that is, they are good at relieving anyone unfortunate enough to find themselves seated in close proximity of their hearing, sanity, and/or bowel control.

I never thought of a GP-30 as having a "skull-buster" look to it before

right now but I think you may have added the best description ever

for the GP-30...the Skullbuster cab with the water buffalo dynamic

brake blisters. I saw the GP-30 in action since day one and probly

my favoite unit.

OMG, Clavalin, you've brought back some recessed memories, add to it all the oil on that little window that you could hardly get off with a scraper and you're in for some real PHUN. I thought I'd forgotten all about that.

I can't seem to find one picture that suitably illustrates this, which would include the F on the front, naturally.

Try doing it with the House of Green mirrors....

Those "A" stands on the Black Road's 30's really sucked.

I remember those mirrors, geesh, something else I'd forgotten* about. We wondered how anyone could work with those things but, considering what we thought of our new partners, we weren't surprised.

*Cy's memory concerns him at times, especially in view of his mother's condition.

Ooohhh...ooohhh... Looka what BurningJournaldotcom just located in the archival! A jenu-wine GP30 properly set up by the factory at La Grange, and delivered 'as is' to Southren Railway!

Prob'ly didn't last very long though. Hogs didn't like running short hood forward at Southren, nope! Mechanical dept. hadda reconfigure 'em ta run t'other way... Engineer could bang his noggin a few more times using the shitter in the short end!
