I've heard the term "Mickey Mouse operation" many times during my RR career. The BN like every other railroad was subject to new trainmasters and those higher-up just passing through just long enough to set-back railroading 5-10 years. I was part of a wildcat strike by BN clerks in Everett Wa in July 1978. Actually got fired for about 7 months before the union got me back on the job with no loss of seniority. I took some pictures from that time and guess what? Mickey Mouse is on a sign carried around to say that this is what the railroad is now. I only had 5yrs seniority when this "stupid-shit" decision to do this and I went along with it. Something to talk about in later life.

I always figured my next job would be at Disneyworld. It would be a lateral transition, going from one Mickey Mouse outfit to another. There is a reason I call LINTCO the Dairyland Disneyland.

Were you doing this in support of the Red Team clerks? This is when the BRAC strike started on the N&W, July, 1978. That's when the officials started tearing up the railroad, although they had a different version.
