The brief 2-game series with the much improved Padres ended with
a split. M's hit 6-hrs in a game one romp 11-4. Game 2 had
"Big-game" James Shields keeping the M's offence in check
and the M's lose 4-1. Tiewan Walker gets the loss but pitched
well enough for 6-innings. San Diego has a vastly improved
team for 2015.
Next into town is the Boston Red Sox for a 4-game set.
Already known that Safeco will have great attendence
for the series.

Seattle and Boston played a tight/intense 4-game series
at Safeco and it ended up 2-2. Boston has a pretty good
club assembled for 2015...so do the M's. This series was
played during the MIR Shadow Period and James Paxton
threw 8-innings of shutout ball to run his streak to 20
innings. King Felix was effected by the change of Mercurys
Direction and couldnt find it on Saturday evening and had
to exit early and getting his first loss of the season and
6-1 on the season. So the M's sweep the A's, split with SD,
and split with Boston for a 6-3 homestand that drew a lot
of fans. Next the M's fly to Baltimore for a 3-game series
starting Tuesday May 19th. Hope MIR doesnt get the city
in a rage again and cancellation of games. Think Nelson
Cruz cant wait to hit a few out at Camden Yards.

So the M's managed to get the 3-game series in at Baltimore.
Thurdsay's game was true/typical MIR as rains shutdown the
game in the 3rd inning for 2hrs and 5mins. Both starters out
of game. J Happ of the M's gave up a 1st inning grand slam
and it was 4-1 at "tarp-time". Game resumes and the M's tie-it
up 4-4. Kyle Seager gets tossed after a called 3rd strike in which
he said nothing to the umpire. Bryce Harper for the Nats got
ejected the other night for nothing really. So Kyle's spot in the
batting order came up with the bases loaded twice and no Kyle
to swing the bat. Tough loss as the M's leave Baltimore with
"no-makeup games" due to weather or riots. Next stop..the
Toronto Blue Jays for 3-games. Hello Astroturf.

The astroturf in Toronto is really a joke when you get to look
it over. The "warning tracks" are just astroturf painted dark
orange. Every hard hit ground ball kicks up "rubber-dust".
And this is the "newly installed turf" or the "current technology"
of playing field. The M's managed to win the 3-game series
on King Felix's fine performance game 1 and James Paxton
followed suit in game 2. Game 3 Tiwon Walker has yet to
find himself this season and the M's lose game 3. So the
"astroturf roadtrip" continues with 3 games at Tampa Bay.
The Rays are playing good ball so it should be a good series
to watch.

The M's visit to the "Trop" to play the Rays for a 3-game
series. Roenis Elias..the young Cuban fireballer takes to
the mound for game one for the M's and pitches 6+ innings
just giving up 2 runs. I forget how the M's made it a 3-2
ballgame but it was Fernando Rodney time in the bottom of the
9th inning. Rodney makes very quick work of the Rays and the
M's take game 1. Game 2 was a MIR baseball game as the Rays
took a 3-2 lead into the top of the 8th inning. Kyle Seager hits
a grand salami and the M's lead 6-3. Bring in Fernando Rodney
to get another save. Rodney gets rocked for 3-runs but ends
the 9th inning and the game is tied 6-6. Now there more to this
story as Rodney would have gotten the save had Robinson Cano
completed the double-play to get out of the inning. Only during
MIR would Robinson Cano make spiked throw to first base during
this play. So you just have to gather your emotions watching this
game. Probly the most unlikey finish as Kyle Seager follows his
grand salami with a solo shot in the top of the 10th and that would
be it for the Rays. Game 3 was the matchup of the best pitchers
in the AL as King Felix for the M's and Chris Archer for the Rays.
The game started before I got out of bed and I watched from the
5th-inning on as it was 0-0. Archer K's 12 and King Felix K's 8
and the King managed to get some offensive help in the top
of the 9th as Nelson Cruz hits a 3-run shot that ends up in the
pool/tank with all the stingrays swimming. The King finnishes
things in the bottom of the 9th to go 8-1 for the year.
M's fly home for a 11-game homestand with a record of 23-23.
Cleveland in Seattle for a 4-game serries. Seems MIR has lit
a light for the M's so far.

Well the roadtrip did take some toll as Robinson Cano came
back to Seattle with "flu-like" symptoms and missed 2-games.
Seems MIR has llt a match under Cleveland Indians even before
the visit to Safeco Field. It looked like the 4-game series would
end up in a 2-2 draw Sunday until Cleveland utilized MIR better
than the M's in the 12th inning to go to KC for their 3-games
on a happy note. Tough game to watch on TV. A 100 ups
and downs to process. M's will forget this series quickly as
the New York Yankees make a 3-game visit. King Felix going
after win #9 vs ex-M Micheal Pineda who has been pitching
very well. M's 24-26 for the first 50 games. The Astros are
running away with things right now.

So the New York Yankees are in Seattle for a 3-game series.
The M's are still trying to figure out what happened in the
4-game Cleveland series and MIR is doing its thing to a baseball
team and they have no answers to "fix-it". MIR is not a time
to correct your swing or work on your curveball. M's are not
hitting or pitching or relief pitching all at once. I pity them as
I know why things are going all wacky/weird (MIR) on them
and they dont. King Felix was to get the M's back in the win
column game 1 and it sure looked like he was going pitch a
"no-no" through 3-innings. The 4th inning with Felix on the
mound a heavy rain downpour hit Safeco with the roof open
and the pitching mound became a mess. Usually the folks
running Safeco Field close the roof preceeding showers of
this magnitude from monitoring weather radar and other
technologies but it just happpen to be when King Felix
was pitching and it through him off his game (MIR).
Felix was having a hard time adapting to mound conditions
and he couldnt find it after that and had one of his worst days
on the mound giving up 7-runs. Chalk that up to MIR.
Long story short..the Yanks sweep their Seattle visit and
the M's are "MIR" lost right now. Late news that the M's
have acquired Mark Trombone from the Diamondbacks.
Big bat for sure and maybe it will pay dividens.
Next in town is the TB Rays for 4-game series and another
chance for Chris Archer to K a bunch of M's.

Is THIS what goes on at Mariner games, Krink?  Not that there's anything wrong with it or anything like that:

I dont know what goes on at Mariner games because of
my "season tickets" are in my favorite chair in front of the TV.
Chris Archer goes for the Rays on Sunday afternoon and
replacement starter for James Paxton..Mike Montgomery
making his 2nd start in the big leagues. King Felix rebounds
from his last start to get the win (9-2) Saturday night in a
2-1 win to break a M's 7-game losing skid. Come to the
conclusion that MIR favors the pitchers as the M's cant seem
to buy a hit when its necessary. RISP average very bad.
The 11-game homestand has been a disaster..M's looking
to get their 3rd win this homestand before heading on the road again.
Maybe Chris Archer wakes up with flu-like symptoms and has to
miss a start maybe the only way Seattle has a chance at a split
of the 4-game series. M's have struckout so many times during
this stretch of MIR. Thinking this roadtrip upcoming and MIR
ending for now that things will change to very good .

Well Chris Archer did not wake up with flu-like symptoms
Sunday and got another a win striking out 11 M's on the
way. The M's are starting to dig quite a hole to get out of.
I'm hoping like a light switch..when MIR is done...the M's
get hot. We could see a turn around at Cleveland or maybe
at Houston. Its obvious MIR has great effect on the M's...
cant hit at all but pitched pretty darn good. 2-9 homestand
is not what anybody expected coming into this homestand
23-23. "MIR be gone". So its on the road to Cleveland and
Houston and 2-games at San Francisco. Mercury goes direct
on the 11th and I've noticed the MIR effects can "lift' early.
Yes I'm eager to see the M's winning games again and no
better club to play than the Astros the next 2 weekends.
Think Mark Trombo will be a great addition to M's offence.
Robinson Cano needs to get it going after MIR as he is
holding up things offensively for the M's but playing an All-Star
2nd base.

Dont think anyone expected the Astros to be way on top
of the AL West at this point of the season. MIR has many
teams on a losing skid including the Astros recently as
the last week of MIR for another 3-months finishes up.
M's were doing real good going into MIR and hope that
good can be found again.

M's in Cleveland for a 3-game series. Weather was great for
all 3- games. I told you it was coming...the M's getting off the
"MIR Snide" and it happened in games 1 and 2 as they had
the "swagger" back and won game 1 3-2 and game 2 9-3.
Seems only east of the Mississippi that they schedule day
games to start at noon. I mean you play a night game that
ends a 10pm or so and be ready to do it again at noon the
next day seems pretty hard to adapt to if you are the road
team. Shannon Dreyer the M's in-house club reporter said
that everybody had to be curbside at 5:45AM with all their
luggage before this 12noon startime. Thats doesnt allow
for a lot of shuteye. The M's lose game 3 in a 6-0 shutout
but win the series 2-1. Glad to leave Cleveland with no make-up
games and see you next season.

MIR thankfully comes to an end but the trip to Houston would
take place under the celestial powers of Sun conjunct Mars and
it would result in the weirdest 3-game series I've ever seen.
Astros give King Felix no chance and hammer the King for
8-runs in a 1/3rd innings. Wow..I cant beleive it. Astros go
on to win 10-0. Next day game 2.. the M's hammer Astro ace
Colin Mchue for 8-runs over the first 2 innings and go on to
win 9-1. Game 3 has the young Cuban on the mound Roenis
Elias and he gets hammered and the Astros win 13-0. So in the
end the M's drop 2 of 3 from the Astros. Next up are the SF Giants
at SF for a 2-game series to continue at Safeco for another
2-game series.

The M's take game one in SF with Tiwon Walker tossing a gem.
Game 2 has J Happ pitching strong but loses and the M's bullpen
came in to make sure it was a loss. Better in 2015 that this
2-games here and there is with the Giants as its been a 2&2
with the Padres for a long time. King Felix gets a chance to
redeem himself after his last start vs the Astros where he gave
up 8-runs in a 1/3 inning. Bumgardener goes for the Giants as
game 1 at Safeco has a pitching duel on tap. M's need to get
some wins this homestand.
