King Felix more than redeemed himself after his last
start at Houston giving up 8-runs in 1/3 inning by pitching
8-innnings of nada and the M's outpitch SF and Madison
Bumgardener for a 2-0 win. Game 2 at Safeco against the
Giants had M's rookie pitcher Mike Montgomery going and
he has done very well for himself/team since being called-up.
The outcome of this game would have been very different
had Brad Miller executed the second half of a routine double
play to end the inning...but he bobbled. Turns into a 3-run
inning for SF. It just got worse from there as the M's bullpen
gave up runs and the rout was on for SF and M's bats were
very silent game 2 and suffering another shutout loss.
Game 2 vs the Giants had Robinson Cano scratched from
the lineup because of a stiff back and Kyle Seager scratched
because of food poisoning. So the M's split the 2&2 series
with the Giants which is good I guess. So from playing 4-games
with the 2014 World Serious Champs, the M's entertain the
1st place Houston Astros for a 3-game series followed by a
3 game series with 1st place KC Royals on this homestand.
The M's need to elevate their game and not a better chance than
to do it then on this homestand. MIR is in the rear view mirror
so "normal thinking" can take over to further your path.

M's take first 2 games against the visiting Astros. M's make a
change at hitting coach as Howard Johnson is sent on his way
and replaced by Edgar Martinez. This is quite a development
as Edgar already has a "Drive" named after him near Safeco
plus there is a neon sign in the outfield just above "Edgar's
Cantina" where you can get cocktails and mingle. Edgar is
in the M's HOF. Seems we dint realize that Edgar still can
be great help "still". The hiring seems consistent with
Capricorn "like attracts like" as M's GM Jack Z and M's manager
Lloyd McClendon are Caps as well as Edgar. This could be a
"pivotal hire" to get the M's bats going and more than that.
Edgar's first game as hitting coach results in a win.

Game one KC at Seattle and the King gets rocked for
4-runs and loses the game to go to 10-4 on the season.
Game two has rookie pitcher (ex-KC Royal draftee)
Mike Montgomery going for the M's and strikesout
10 Royals enroute to a CG Shutout win. Roenis Elias
starts game 3 with no-hit stuff through 3-innings and
did what happened to Felix a week ago..just lose it
bigtime and gives up a "7-spot" in the 4th inning.
I started looking for entertainment elsewhere's.
M's hit the road again with a PDT trip with the
Angels-SD-Oak.

M's 3-game series at LA Angels was another mixed bag of
greatness and failure. Tiwon Walker pitched a gem and got
some offensive help and M's grab game 1. J. Happ pitched
well enough to get a win but dint...M's cant hit anything.
Game 3..King Felix pitches 6-innings of shutout ball only
to get another no-decision as the bullpen gets used up
in a 10-inning game as Tom Wilhelmson tosses a walk-off
wild pitch...sigh. A day-off in SD Thursday and a 2-game
series against the Padres.

Well the short 2-game series at SD went very well for the M's
as rookie pitcher Mike Montgomery followed up his CG shutout
vs KC at Seattle with a 1-hit shutout CG against the Padres.
Had a no-no going into the 6th-7th. Montgomery pitching the
way he has the last 2 starts is presenting some problems when
Iwakuma and Paxton return from the DL. Game 2..Tiwon Walker
held the Pad's to 1-hit in 6-innings as the M's offense come alive
with Cano having a 4-5 day with a HR and 3-rbi's and Nelson
Cruz getting his 20th HR on his birthday. M's head up to Oakland
a 4-game series.

The M's visit at Oakland was a "feast or famon" split of the
4-game series. A's pitcher Scott Kazmir shuts-out the M's 4-0
in game one. Game 2 has the M's on a 2-run homer barrage
against A's starter Jesse Chaves and take game 2 9-5.
Kink Felix pitched game 3 and dint have his best stuff but
still held the A's to 2-runs over 6-innings but the M's offence
came up with nada and when you come up with nada...
you lost. Mike Montgomery going for the M's game 4 after
pitching consecutive CG shutouts against KC and SD was
pitching very well again against Oakland as he gets the
win with help from the M's bullpen. M's have a winning roadtrip
and come home to play the Tigers for 3 and the Angels for 4
and its the All-Star break. Tigers missing M Cabrera on this
road trip..could make things easier on the M's.
Have to say or make comment on the "noise section" now
in place at the Oakland Colisium. This is a "off the street"
rhythm section with drums and whistles and "annoyed" all
game. I know the drummer at Cleveland games and his
pounding is nothing to what I heard during the 4-game
series at Oakland. No wonder Oakland is in the cellar...
this pounding of the drums from this group is annoying
the fans and the TV watchers that have to listen to this
shit. I keep thinking that "percussion instruments" arent
part of what a baseball crowd noise has always been.

The Detroit Tigers come to Safeco as the team with the highest
team batting average in the AL and I now I see why. M's pitchers
dint do so good against the Tigers. Game 1 was close for a while
and then it was 12-5 Tigers. Game 2 was a really great game to
watch as the M's-Tigers go 11-innings and Robinson Cano hits a
walk-off single and as Stan Verett of ESPN Sports Center Los
Angeles says "its time to bounce in Seattle". Game 3 had a shaky
J. Happ going for the M's and Detroit gets off to a 3-run lead.
Same story all 3-games as Detroit gets a 3-run lead to start
things. M's fight back to tie the game but Detroit manages to
get another run with no answer by the M's..5-4. Manager
Lloyd McLendon was in Indiana this series attending the funeral
of his youngest sister. The Tigers missing M Cabrera this trip but
Cespedes took over for him with some big hits and some great
plays on defence. M's visit Detroit on next road trip I think so
maybe we can win a series there. Next into Seattle are the
LA Angels of Anaheim for a 4-game serious. This is yet another
visiting club to Safeco that is not an easy opponent. The Angels
are just a few games behind the Astros and their record is
improving. King Felix gets his last start before the All-Star Game
of which he was selected along with Nelson Cruz. M's need to
get some wins against the Angels at home before the break.

The 4-game series at Safeco was a 2-2 split against the LA
Angels of Anaheim.Game 1 had King Felix tossing another
gem and M's win. Game 2 had rookie Mike Montgomery with
some great stats built-up over his last starts pitching but...
the Angels hitters could figure him out on this day
and takes the loss. Iwakuma coming off the DL not long ago
dint have a good start last time but "redeems himself" in
convincing fashion as the M's shut-out the Angels. Game 4
has Tiwon Walker going for the M's and he dint have it on this
day as he commits 2-throwing errors and gives up 6-runs.
M's bullpen gives up 4-more runs. M's save face by scoring
3-runs late or it would have been 10-0.

M's go into the All-Star break 7-games behind the new leader
of the AL West the LA Angels. Houston gets overtaken at the
All Star Break. All kinds of twists and turns will abound the
second half of the season once Venus turns retrograde on
July 25th and goes to Sept 6th. Some star players will go
down to injuries for every baseball club during this period.
We will get a chance to see which team will overcome
the effect of Venus retrograde the best.

Watched the All-Star HR Derby on Monday night. I like the
new format of seedings and a 4 minute time limit and a 30
second bonus period. Seems this contest can zap your strength
as Todd Frasier coulnt do a thing in the All-Star Game.

Nelson Cruz got the start at DH for the AL and went 0-2.
King Felix came in to pitch the 3rd and retired all 3-batters.
Mike Trout got the MVP for the AL as they win 6-3 over the NL.
AL has homefield advantage in the World Serious.

M's open the post All-Star break at the NY Yankees Fri-Sat-Sun.
Cant wait for that.

M's start 2nd half of the season losing 2 of 3 at Yankees Stadium.
Mike Montgomery started game one and pitched well going 6-innings
and leaving with a 3-3 tie. M's bullpen blows it and M's lose despite
Kyle Seager's 2hrs. Game 2 has Iwakuma on the mound and he
pitched great for almost 6-innings and the M's bullpen does the job.
Robinson Cano accounts for all the M's runs with a pair of 2-run hrs.
Game 3..King Felix against CC Sabathia went 6-innings at 1-1.
M's bullpen..Fernando Rodney gives up a hr to M's nemisis Mark
Teixiera in the bottom of the 8th. Rodney been doing that lately..
giving up a solo shot late. King Felix gets another no-deciscion
and a close game all the way. Mark Teixiera kills the M's again...
nothing new as he did for years in a Texas uniform.

Next is to see if we can get a 4-game series in at Detroit without
a double-header in the future or a make-up game on a future
road-trip.

The Ms ain't goin' anywhere soon. Especially after the Royals visit Safeco Field. More than one active bettingpoll has it that KC will very likely go to the "Big Show," for 2015, and be the de facto AL team ta win it all. Again!

Yes KC is taking off where they left last season. Need to see how
2-months of Venus retrograde starting July 25th to Sept 6th plays
"itself" out in MLB....and other sports. Think the standings may go
through some changes. To make it even more interesting...those that
get injured during Venus retrograde in some/most cases get healed
up enough to play the last weeks of September and all of October.
I wouldnt bet a penny on anything the next 2 months.

Smart NOT betting on anything. Especially politics. Sports... Maybe. During the later playoffs. Maybe!

Game 2 M's at Detroit was one of those unbelievable baseball
games...hard to sit through and watch...but I did. More later.

It sure looked like the M's were ready to play the Tigers game
one of a 4-game series in the Motor City. J Happ gives up 3-runs
over 7-innings but left with a 4-3 lead. Mark Lowe who has been
lights out all season out of the M's bullpen...gives up his first HR
of the season...a 2-run shot to Ian Kinsler in the bottom of the 8th.
Tough loss.
Game 2 was just unbelivable and hard to watch as neither pitching
staff was doing good. One team scores and the other team answers.
M's seemed to behind but close the whole way. Really glad Franklin
Gutierrez is back after a couple years of ill health. "Guti" made a
name for himself in center field coming over from the Indians for
several seasons with the M's. So "Guti" steps up as a pinch-hitter
with the bases loaded in the top of the 8th and hits a grand salami
to give the M's a 11-8 lead. That would hold up. Crazy game to watch.
Game 3 was M's rookie fireballer Mike Montgomery making his first start
against the Tigers. The 3rd inning..Montgomery gives up an "8-spot"
and his day is done. On the bright side..Nelson Cruz hits 2hrs and
Robbie Cano is coming to life.
Game 4 had Iwakuma going against Price so you know the scoring
would be minimal to low. Iwakuma gave up 2-runs in the first but
that was it and goes 7-innings and leaves the game with score tied
2-2. This game would go 12-innings with the M's catcher Mike Zunino
getting the big hit and 3-2 win. M's-Tigers split the 4-game series.
M's go 3-4 on the roadtrip to the Yankees and Tigers.
Back home Friday night against the potent Toronto Blue Jays
and King Felix on the mound.
