Yes, it is cold enough out there for us. It doesnt even matter where there is if you live in the United States right now, its probably Polar-vortex-level freezing. But thanks to the Weather Channels list of the 20 coldest big cities in America, you know exactly where you stand as far as wind chill-induced misery goes. Is it colder in your city than where your friends live? Colder than Boston? Colder than gasp Chicago?
TWC used average 30-year temperatures for December, January, and February to determine not which city has the most extreme cold or snow but the most persistent chill during core winter months. The results based on data from the National Climatic Data Center may surprise you (for instance, I dont generally tend to think Colorado or Missouri when I think of frostbite). Of the 100 most populous U.S. cities, the most consistently cold locales are:
1. Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota
2. Anchorage, Alaska
3. Madison, Wisconsin
4. Milwaukee, Wisconsin
5. Omaha, Nebraska
6. Chicago, Illinois
7. Lincoln, Nebraska
8. Rochester, New York
9. Buffalo, New York
10. Ft. Wayne, Indiana
11. Toledo, Ohio
12. Detroit, Michigan
13. Akron, Ohio
14. Cleveland, Ohio
15. Indianapolis, Indiana
16. Colorado Springs, Colorado
17. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
18. Denver, Colorado
19. Kansas City, Missouri
20. Boston, Massachusetts

I don't believe any of TWC's sensationalized drivel. Quite a few agree with me seeing as ta how DirecTv gave TWC the boot.
I get my weather directly from the source The National Weather Service arm of the NOAA.

Finally got some SNOW in KY. Snow blower quantities. Stunk up the basement to get the thing started.
This is after having weeks of mostly zero and below. Maybe the end is in sight.
If you ever wear out the plastic scraper blade on bottom, try googling TORO. This is for the small 2 cycle machines.

Because they are using the completely bogus wind chill index. What a load of horse shit.
There's a lot of difference between those phony numbers and a wet cold like we suffer in Snippylvania. Temperatures are hovering right around ZERO right now!!!

Clavalin, I'm so disappointed in you. You can see that Cy is suffering, it's right there on the list, instead you choose to degrade a great American channel.
As for Sniveling Snippy, nothing surprises me in his continuous attempts to make us believe he's gonna freeze to death, maybe. Much like these folks.

It's not news that its cold in your area. In fact, its expected in your locale, and this information has been known for decades. You choose to live there.
As for Snippys predicament, it is commonly known that the ocean currents and natural rhythm of the jet stream flow more temperate air over the region, resulting
in a warmer and more comfortable climate.
Now the kooks at the weather channel say its ok for the people who are used to cold weather, and choose to stay in such conditions, to bitch about those conditions.
They go on to say that people who live in a more temperate locale have no reason to bitch because they don't have to put up with the cold often.
To wich I say POPPYCOCK!!!
That's right POPPYCOCK!!
If you live where its cold all thetime and it bothers you, then move the fawk away from there. If you make no effort to change then you have no grounds to bitch.
If you live in a warm area and it gets cold then yes you have every right to bitch on the few occasions that the weather goes bad on ya.
Wake up America!
Its just like when the cavemen sit around the fire at night. The guys who sat furtherest away got cold. Do you think they sat there and bitched about it, or got up and moved closer to the fire?
I'm Earl Pitts American......Pitts off!!

Thank you for realizing that it is bitterly cold here next to those ocean currents! When they blow this moist ZERO degree (C)(K?) weather in, it's horrendous!
Very Good. I haven't seen that award in quite awhile.

I saw or read somewhere that this winter going on
right now was the norm maybe until the last 20 yrs
where everybody got much different or milder winters.
I really remember my winters growing up in Bellingham
during the 60's. Winters had numerous Northeasters
that lasted for 10 days at a time. The cold wind would
find a way into your house. Later on I remember delivering
the Bellingham Herald in weather like this. Get up at
4:00AM on Sunday morning and go deliver papers on
foot and there is a foot of snow on the ground with a
crust of ice on top and its "0" out. That was a tough
day on the job. The GPNW was known for a winter that
might make you think twice about settling here but
something happened to the climate about 20 years ago
where I used to make comments like "we seem to get
California winters now" as I was trying to garden year
round and it was very possible. Our GPNW Winters were
more like California for quite a while. Well thats changed.
With Venus in retrograde going on until Jan 31, file your
report then.
I don't need no weather man to tell me it's cold. The river outside my house is chock full of ice. No wooden hull ships allowed according to the Coast Guard. Snippy is such a fair weather wimp.
