And this cat Chris Tarrant and his "Extreme Railway Journeys" crosses Canada from east to west, with stops in between.
Looks like a whole lotta fun. It's about 45 minutes, so copy it, save it and watch later. Most interesting of all? Banff. Way the hell up in the Rockies. A grand old hotel, and hot springs!

I got about a dozen VHS tapes of TV shows with the "Journey across Canada on a train" and they
are all good that's why I taped them. Sort of know the route in my mind.

With your new found wealth Mr. Krink, perhaps you should plan a Canadian trip???

I don't have the necessary "papers" to travel to Canada these days. Took a lot of pictures
during my trips to Canada when all you needed was a drivers license and they never asked
to see it...reason for visiting Canada...take a shitload of train pictures. OK...you may pass.
Everything changed after 911.

Krinker, you should still be able to get into Canada with a DL. We cross in Northern Minnesota and never need anything more. They just ask how long we plan on staying and it's usually just for the day.

Only makes it easier. Imagine being turned away at the border and having tu stay in the land of Banff and Thunderwagons.
Fly ta Winny, ride VIA to Le Pas. Ride with TW5K ta Churchill, watch polar bears, return, grab another passenger train ta Banff!
Check out the big CP Rail Hotel, eat, sleep, act wealthy. Rent a car, etc, etc. What's not ta like?

Up till 9-11 we never had an issue. Coss the boder back and forth very easily. Show DL, registration, ins. proof, go! Coming back-same deal!
After the BIG event, everybody's suspicious, or a terrorist! Went to Vanc. for bike parts once, US boder guys pulled me out, questioned me, put a dog into my car, searched everything, embarrased me... Fucked with my head basically! Never went via I-5 again! Cross further east. North of Spokane, or Sand Point ID. No real hassles!
