Ah, Tipton, once a major LE&W crossroads, as major as the LE&W ever got, anyway. Cy's last meetup with some of his fellow retirees was in Tipton but not there.

So a week in the low 90'sF "with nary a breeze". "The Doldrums". Usually there is a breeze/wind
in the late afternoon but not this week as the air has been "still" 24/7. This makes every hot day
this week a lot less enjoyable. Friday's 93F day was the hottest so far and no wind at all and "stuffy"
outside. I wore a damp cold washcloth on my head to go into my garage for 5-minutes a couple times.
Everybody living in the GPNW wants this smoke to go somewhere else but not for another 3-days atleast.
SeaFair weekend in Seattle with the Hydroplane races and the Blue Angels and 88-90F temps. There is
a window manufacturer in Seattle that made some ridiculous offer that windows are free if the temp
exceeds 89F on Seafair Sunday. I'm sure this window company is going to be sweating a lot along
with the rest of the population as 90F is a very real possibility Sunday. I may get used to the heat given
enough time. Other humans can do it.

Good news for the window manufacture outfit as its only forecasted to be 85F for SeaFair Sunday.
I Shirley did appreciate the 83F Saturday down from 93F Friday. Its like you need to experience
90F+ days in order to make any 80'sF days the rest of the summer not such a big deal.

This seems a bit old by now. Two BIG things going on in Uke's 'hood. Some sort of unending road construction, and the heat. The weather.
Sounds like a broken record, but with no explanation on the first, the weather seems almost normal. For August in Oregon, or the GPNW
The construction? No explanation of what 'they' are doing, or why it's taking so long to finish...

This week was the first we heard of your road construction.... Wasn't this project announced in your local paper with the plan? From what I saw in the pictures, it was major drainage and curbs, besides just laying asphalt. You could have gotten a flagging job, or donned a hard hat and weaseled your way in some how..
At night you could have moved the survey flags or repainted the orange lines or something.....

Yeah drainage pipes (storm drains, sewer lines, water mains, gas pipes, etc.) all replaced... In the meantime, the road into/out of the hood is nothing but a gravelly, dusty mess! This all started back in May! Two months in, and the 'hood is still a mess!
Everybody who lives here has complained to the city. Hundreds of folks are directly affected. Literally hundreds. Yeah it's only one slice of this town, but this 'project' has sure fucked up the neighborhood!
Pictures to come...

The air quality has been hazardous for almost 2-weeks in Wa State/Seattle. The inside
of my house smells like smoldering campfire because its been hot and have to open windows
and setup fans to blow in some cool air that smells like a smoldering campfire. A viscious
cycle. Seems the weather service has been stringing us along with promises that the smoke
will last just a couple days longer over and over again. Well it looks like Sunday now (coincides
with MIR) that some rain and a change of wind direction is instore to blow all this smoke "away"
from us. So along with "that" is a weather disturbance coming up from the south now in Oregon
part of the "summer Monsoon" thing that hits the desert southwest. This weather from the south
is going to produce numerous T-Storms in the mountains as it works it way north and start a whole
nother round of wildfires. I will be looking forward to fresh air to breath when it comes.

So, youse guys are getting all new schist all at the same time, everybody working, making a mess only once instead of screwing it up year after year with each individual project, yet all you old coots still complain. Youse guys would complain if Farah Fawcett gave you a blow job and didn't swallow.
Look at all that infrastructure jobs, your tax payer money actually getting used for something that you can see! The economy being stimulated for real!
My Gawd!
Screw it.
Youse guys should get nuthin. No electricity, no gas, go out back and dig and outhouse, and have a dirt road. You deserve nuthin, nuthin....
