Guess the switch got thrown after they went by the last fixed signal....
Implications could get serious.

*cy*, Snippy thanks you for keeping us up-to-date with the trendsetters in personal eloectronic device useage.
On another note, Snippy notes that Amtrak event recorder cams are in high-def color.

Ive noticed now people more commonly make a U-Turn rather than run the gates or just wait. Its comical cause you know they are going to to drive all the way around town instead of wait a couple minutes, its like damn people a 3,000ft train traveling at 50mph isn't going to take very long to clear.

Pipes, I've seen them do that for lite power, they don't even get turned around and look up to see you've cleared the crossing.

aHa ! See that is an international phenomenon, as would be expected.
"A friend" relates frustration with the young conductors' willingness to
pull 3000 ft. cuts out over a crossing and kick them out, causing very much
civilian unrest. Precedent cases indicate if the engineer has requested a move
to clear the crossing, if prosecution did follow, he 'should' be cleared.
