Lemme paraphrase our 'winter tough guy' himself... One Buckethead, resident of Pig's Knuckle, Minnesota, reputedly 'coldest place' in the Lower 48... "This place sucks...I'm headin' ta SoCal..."
Yeah Mister "We get 6-7 blizzards...a year up here... Uliar! Pussy! Weather wimp! Now get back in yer cubicle and update that damn Grammy report!

Ritzville... The place is a known trap! There's too damn many cops with too damn much time on their hands... The place has your typical small town police... And then there's the county sherrif, because Ritzville is the county seat of Adams County.
The state patrol has a post there as well! All three agencies use ONE office, one jail, and stay connected via wireles freq's, and scramblers... They're also in the air with a couple light planes, and a helicopter!
They pull in a shitpot of money, and keep their little fiefdom going... The town itself is a shithole, but that's Eastern Washington.

Ah, Uke, it looks like a nice town. And look, they've even got the Ritz Theater. It's right next door to the bowling alley, how convenient is that? Get tired of bowling, go right next door and relax by taking in a movie. What a nice town.
Ritzville to me..."I-90". You just have to drive I-90 through Eastern Washington a couple times. It's like driving any barren unremarkable 200 mile stretch of freeway. You might think while you are driving in the middle of nowhere and no towns or any other indication of human settlements, is the perfect place for the WSP to use radar. I've never been a driver that could consciously go more than "4mph" over the limit so I get through this area without incident. Sometimes the time of day/night you pass through Ritzville makes a lot of difference. If you got a late start leaving Seattle headed for Spokane, you could be passing through the "Ritz" in the late PM and you are pretty tired of driving already. Eastern Washington WSP are like the "South" in their ways.

If ya bother ta read through my little article gleaned from Wiki, that box which reads down, shows interesting points. One links right ta this:http://www.speedtrap.org/city/12393/Ritzville/
This details the 'known' speed traps on I-90 east, and westbound in the area where the Ritzville cops, city police, State patrol, and the Adams County sheriff have jurisdiction. The town itself MAY not be a bad place, but a movie theater, and a couple diners, a grain/feed store, hardware store, a cemetary, and the old NP depot/museum don't really make it much of an attraction for this grunt.
Let's take a peek at the origins of this thredd shall we? How did we veer off from the big storm in the northeast, ta my Ritzville crap?

This is burningjournaldotcom. Threads frequently (regularly?) take strange turns. Oh, and I guess it's not closed, either. So there!!!
