Wednesday afternoon Lebanon Fire crews were on the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Russell Drive at McKinney Lane in Lebanon, Where a driver went off the road in heavy rains and smashed into a power pole, shearing it off and sending a live wire to the ground. Pacific Power recieved a power outage call at 2:27 Pm and responded to the incident which jeft 500 customers without power, according to company spokesman Tom Gauntt. Linn County Sheriff officials say distracted driving led to the crash. as the driver, 25 yr old Dylan Sowers of California, was reaching for a bag of nosecandy he'd dropped onto the floorboards of his vehicle. Nosecandy? Oh yeah right, cocaine! Hed a feeling the asshole was 'distracted'! If ya look at a map where it happened, it's a two lane level, blacktop paved, straight road. Ran outside ta help, but snapped pole... Live wires! Big no-nos! And sheriff's deputy said get back. At that point it was NOT raining! While awaiting power co. it started raining heavily. Those cats had one hell of a job, but they were done by about 2200.
Good job all! (chopped pole still leaning in place). Cable TV left attached to transfer to new pole.

Reread Cal's local news rag report. Pic taken from opposite side of crash from my pics. Surprised driver exited with no help at all! He wasn't all messed up. Not bloody, etc. Actually walked away!
And he did confess to 'reaching for a bag of nosecandy'! Maybe he was thinking these Oregon hick cops won't know... Right. Right!
Maybe lotsa hicks live out here, but cops seem totally professional. And not stupid! Sure hope the cat has good insurance.

Snippy wants to see a picture of the bag of nose candy.
Surely, he meant nosegay. You know, not that there's anything wrong with it, or shit.

Maybe... But the usual disclaimer MUST be signed by the purchaser. Absolving seller from all liability. B'sides who'd put a stash on the floor, them reach for it while driving?
