I got my birthday card from my dad today. All of our birthday's are in June according to his calendar. He doesn't want to be bothered with getting grief for missing birthday's so by fiat, all our birthday's are on June 1st.

I believe Clavalavin just won the Sherlock Holmes Burning Journal Edition Award for observation. Or maybe Adrian Monk. Anyway, good powers of close observation, Clavalavalin.

Poor Phreddie! Not only was his birthday wrong [according to his card], but he found out he's adopted!
I'd divorce my parents...if they were still alive, and they told me I was adopted...

That's ok, Phreddie, we know when your birthday is, I know I won't forget.

You, me, Hugh Heffner, and Laurie, one of our local female conductors.
News just in. Laurie loses board case, telling TM's to get PHUKKED on recorded lines never a bright move.

TW5k once suggested the boss "take the rest of the day off ,
go to a private place and have fun with yourself". later in the week
he was showing the new district manager around and jumped me
with "routine request" for cards, books, supplements, etc.

Using the wonderful burningjournaldotcom search engine, this was the first site that I came up with that mentioned Laurie, so I posted word of her demise here. She was supposed to go to a Book of Rules class or a Feel Good class or something but they called her and told her that they were going to have to change that and she was called, due to a shortage of available engineers. She got into it with a trainmaster, I suspect there was a refusal to work in the charge, as well as the way she (allegedly) conducted her end of the conversation. Whatever, they yanked her from service, she was dismissed, and today I learned she lost her case.
Why was she here? Why, she was mine, Phreddie's, Hugh Hefner's, one of my fellow HAWG's in the Fort, and the lady who lives behind us birthday buddy. She's exactly ten years younger than I am so she's out and her maybe seven or eight years of actual railroad service is over. She's got a husband still working, he has roughly the same amount of service, he's managed to stay out of trouble but he's one of those guys who knew more about the railroad after a couple of weeks than all of us collectively. This means that she and the other two female HAWG'S that was there when I retired are both now fired, the other two for running a couple of stop signals.
