Since I've been a scanning pictures maniac the whole month I've found some of my more obscure pictures and can easy post these 2 pictures. Picture number one is at some sort wildlife preserve just south of Conway WA. I thought it was a weird place for a phone but I had only discovered the place. Maybe the phone gets tons of use. Picture number 2 is from Des Moines Iowa where Mrs Krink (worked for GTE/Verizon for 31 years) riding shotgun for me driving around Des Moines Iowa and she could spot a drive-up phones very quickly as we must have spotted alteast a dozen around the city. Sorry for the soft focus. There were also lots of other drive-up-thru stores/marts in Des Moines Iowa. Drive thru-liquor stores and I guess everything else.

Could that be a SIMCA 1204 at that phone? Probably a Yugo.
And a '64 Chevy pickup. Maybe '63?

I think that's a Yugo, not a Simca. Simca, there's a fine car that Phreddie probably would have owned.
That's a GMC pickup. I think it may be a 64. I'd forgotten about those small rear windows.

Look, when you see it on a non phone device, it says GMC on the tailgate! And it has backup lights -- '64.
And it is a Yugo. Square headlights.
Snippy's first -- red '63 Chevy 3/4 tonne
Snippy's second/first car -- Simca creamed yellow like that Yugo

Dad had a brand new 1962 Chevrolet pickup. GM still used wood for the floor in the bed. I don't know what year they changed that. Cy's first car, which he shared with his brother, was a 1955 Chevrolet 210 four door. Straight six, natch, with three on the tree.

I still love the old cars and trucks. I could still work on them..

unless Troll's computer goes haywire...whats the chance of that happening?
Troll's computer must be loaded with all sorts of shit. Probly needs a couple
of extra hard drives to contain all he has gathered. Troll will always be our
most vocal member...until his computer goes haywire.

Phreddie's next car. Chickie included. Where the car goes...she goes!
Today, Uke, at the local library. And I thought that libraries were the last stronghold of accessible pay phones.

First thing Cy, when approaching a pay fone, look over both shoulders ta make sure nobody's behind ya... Then check the coin return for anything. Zip? Pick up the receiver, listen for a dial tone... Remember what a dial tone is? Good! No dial tone... Add your comment, but make sure nobody else sees what you've written.
Jot down the address, phone number, and the exact location to report to "Pay Phone Project." Exit the area, you've done your job!
