If it is not of the quality of a *** 8 mm film strip, Snippy refuses to watch. It's OK if the extension cord gets in the way.

Albany & Eastern just passed with a pair of GE-8s (normally freight power) pulling one of their 'excursion' trains. Not all that unusual, but weird in that it's anormal Friday, and not a holiday... Anywayhttps://santiamexcursiontrains.com/about/
In case anybody cares ta know more. Maybe they're hiring hoggers...

A&E just prevailed in a lawsuit against the state DOT going back a few years. I gues Rick Franklin, owner of A&E neds more money from the state to upgrade the rails, and ROW. Although everything looks good from where I sit. But in any case they won. Sorta...
Having breakfast at a local joint east of Lebanon, down in Sweet Home at "Home Sweet Home Cafe". Yeah that's right, that's the name of the place. Lousy service, slow ass kids waiting on customers, busing tables, serving coffee, etc. Jeezuss...if they were any slower, they's e goin' backwards. But like I said, good food. Decent coffee. Plus it's a different venue...
So reading the Albany Herald, the county's big newspaper, I see the "PAID advertisement" from A&E Railway, where they beat the local, state, and feds to open the money spigot for themselves, or rather itself. Albany & Eastern Railway, Inc. Like they need more money or the entire town, and county, plus connecting rail lines are gonna go bankfuckingrupt without more cash from Uncle Sam! Sounds like extorsion to me. Or maybe blackmail.
Scanned the article from the newspaper, but it's a bitmap file. And I'll be fucked if I can figure out how ta convert it into a j.peg image so I can post it here. Dammit!

Finally! Gawddamn pain in the ass searching for that little conversion program...but it's hidden in between all them tiny extensions and schitt for tweaking pichers. Well there it iz! Right outa today's Albany (OR) Herald, Linn County's premier source of all the news that's fit ta print for those literate enough to read, or who don't mind paying for it!
I got some 'TardLimitz green crayons.
Wondered why the eastbound sat at the crossing so long...
Now the answer becomes clearer: http://www.lebanonlocalnews.com/driver-killed-in-hwy-20-crash/
Weirich Rd. is a major grade crossing on the A&E heading towards Sweet Home, and Weyrhauser Mills

Seemed that way... Although it was only about 2-1/2 hours.
A short clip of the SP 5399, which still wanders along the A&E between Albany, Lebanon, Sweet Home, and occasionally Mill City.
Now she's relegated to pulling excursion trains, after A&E started running GE -8s 1807 and 1841.

This clip was not made by yers truly though

It's money for the short line. It's always money.
