That's the Giant African Land Snail, to be precise. They can grow to be 10 inches long. They leave a slimy trail of excrement wherever they go. They harbor the microscopic rat-lung worm, which can transmit meningitis to humans. And they will literally eat your house... "They'll attach to the side of the house and eat the stucco off the side of the house.""
Pour a thick layer of salt around your house and be done with it.

After the first rain, you'll haffta put more salt out. Buy thin copper flashing, ( at least 4 in wide) and install around the bottom of yer house. Snails cant cross the copper. Fix is permanent.

You can do 100 feet for $400. Expensive to me, but snails arent eating my house.
Typical costs: Chemical extermination is generally priced by the linear foot. A home that is 150-linear feet around, or 1,250-square feet, will cost about $1,350 -$2,500. A 2,500-square foot home with 200 linear feet will be about $1,700 -$3,200. (The highest price designates homes with a slab foundation.) The bait extermination process for the same 1,250-square foot house will typically start at $1,500. A 2,500-square foot home will cost about $3,000.

In Philly, your copper would be gone in just hours after installing it.

You could surround your house with Snippy's collection of prizes, no one would touch them anywhere.
