Today's (Mar. 6, 2012) New York Times Daily Crossword Puzzle, clue 17 across... Answer: Uke.
Call it serendipity. Call it just a random happening.
There are NO random incidents. This was MEANT as a sign!
The universe is vast, unknowable, and mysterious. But everything has been preordained!
Hah! And hah again!

Never had any attraction/interest for crossword-puzzles. So once you figger out the puzzle...what does it mean? Who's keeping track of the winners? The answer to yesterdays puzzle comes tomorrow. Not long to wait for an answer.

Miss Seattle apologizes for city-bashing tweet
From Associated Press
March 06, 2012 3:12 PM EST
SEATTLE (AP) The newly crowned Miss Seattle says she was just having a bad day back in December when she tweeted, "Ugh can't stand cold rainy Seattle and the annoying people."
Since winning the pageant on Saturday, Jean-Sun Hannah Ahn has said she was just complaining about the weather like any Seattle native and didn't mean that people in Seattle are annoying.
She is a former Miss Phoenix who graduated from Arizona State University. Ahn told KIRO-FM (http://bit.ly/yKALwd ) she was in a transition period three months ago, missing friends and sunshine.
She says she learned a valuable lesson.
She tweeted on Monday that: "I really do love Seattle ... the summers are to die for."
Miss Seattle represents the city this summer at the Miss Washington Pageant.

No winners. No losers. Not a competition. Just brain exercise. And a learning/memory thing. As the week progresses, the thing becomes ever more difficult. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays generally are head scratchers fer yers truly.
A housemate of mine piqued my interest, and started me off on the NYT daily puzzle back in '95 when I was laid up with lead poisoning. She read the paper (The now defunct PI) through, but saved the puzzles for me...
Been somewhat hooked since!

Uke, the PI lives, albeit in altered form. You probably knew that.
Yep. But I'm a dinosaur in that reading a newspaper means holding it, and folding it, leafing through sports, business, day-ta-day crap, local news, weather...the comics, and the puzzles.
How do ya do a crossword on the computer screen? Ya can't. Maybe ya can print it, then do it, but it ain't the same.
Used ta subscribe ta the PI till they folded. Now Seattle's a one-newspaper town. We can't count the Stranger, or Seattle Weekly, since they're weekly rags...with no real news.

But Uke, he does have a family. And so forth. And so on. And, well, show a little compassion, I'm sure he means well but he's not sure how to show it. Oh, did I mention he has a family.
