Nelson Mandela is 94 taday Pipes. Do you seriously think he's the target of some crazy? At one point during his life, or at several moments he may have had a rather large bulls eye on his back...
But with end of Apartheid, and his election as president of majority ruled South Africa... Perhaps that target grew. IF there's anything to his history as "Enemy of the State..." the Republic of South Africa's sture grew in the eyes of the world because of his history, and his legacy.
He is South Africa. Like Martin King, he dared us to dream big. And those dreams are alive there, and here!
But today Nelson Mandela is one of history's greats. He's right up there with Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Mohandis Ghandi, and more... I would add Anwar Sadat to that list as well.
Great men who make history, and history makes them who they are.
Conspiracies, or not... The greats stand up, and dare us to dream, and live!
