Meanwhile along the southern border of our NAFTA partner Mexico, senior citizens from this side play the same game. Heading to Mexico for drugs, doctor visits, surgical procedures... All in the name of money. Saving money. It's basically the same game. Border crossing ta save money by stretching the US dollar.
Mexico loves the trade and promotes it. Algodones. A funny little jump across town where ya walk, or drive in and the very first thing ya see is a huge drug store! They'll fill your US prescription(s) for less than half, in most cases, what you'd pay where ya live! Same goes for the dentist, or doctors, or surgery! And ya can haggle prices down if ya figure there rippin' ya off!
Illicit drugs? I wouldn't take a chance on that. Either way. While "recreational" use is legal here, crossing international borders will getcha tossed in the slammer. Canada is much more humane than Mexico, so it's a toss up...
What stops me buying in nowadays...prices. I can't see $250/oz. for weed. Considering that back when...$20 would get a decent ounce, that would last a week or more for the average head. Yeah I know, inflation, taxes, more taxes... I'd rather pay $50 an ounce for some decent Michaucan IF ya could get it...
Now it's all this "designer," named shit... With prices to reflect the origins. I remember when Panama Red was considered potent. Hah! I never smoked weed until Vietnam. Back then it kept ya sane in spite of everything else. That shit was beyond compare. The first time I smoked opium... I couldn't wait ta do it again! The "high" was that good! Talk about being stoned. An opium high...now that's stoned!
When I got back my favorite 'stuff' was opiated hash. Now that shit was worth every penny ta me! My favorite drug of 'abuse,' opium, opiates, "H", morphine, oxy, or codiene, or other synthetics of opium. Everybody in my Infantry outfit carried ampules of morphine ready ta go, "just in case..."

I forget TW that you cant just drop across the border these days
for gasoline but I can tell many in BC have developed a routine
of coming across for gas, milk, and other staples several times
a week. I listen to a Vancouver BC all-news station and they tell
the "waits" at the border every 10 minutes going south/north.
The 4-crossings (Blaine, Blaine Truck crossing, Aldergrove, and
Sumas) all can have 2hr+ waits coming south on holidays and
I've heard of multi-hour waits not on holidays. Growing up in
Whatcom County, I know a lot of the commerce is geared-up
to attract Canadian business and its been successful. A lot of
BC population in the Vancouver area live within 5-10 miles
of the US border. Traveling 10 miles to "the store" not an
issue normally but crossing the border to do it on a regular
basis seems to be worth it.

Xackly. 10 x potency relative increase in price with wages and inflation compared - 20 % at the most. Like Snippy said, 3 mo.'s hoosegow time is absurd. Black mark beside your passport number restricting cross border travel. ? Heavy punishment for what is questionably should not even be a crime, and if so pretty small.

The exchange rate factored in the price in your $ is more like 4 here. B.C. is much higher. Steamer knows.

Snippy would gladly pay the $250 an ounce. Unlike Poster Uke, Snippy is unable to take his money with him when he heads back for the long dirt nap.
Three years or three months in a Vagina prison is one hell of a tax.

Washington has a legal "market" in which growers, distributors, and sellers participate. two or three blocks from the pad is a "dealer." But buyers must be legal as well. A green card is needed to buy, and carry no more than one ounce at a time, for personal use. And business is cash only! With the green card of course!
Now obtaining a green card is another story. Distributors have a list of "doctors" who will prescribe according to your condition(s), or needs.
While the docs at VA acknowledge use of MJ can help certain conditions, their hands are tied when it comes to actually prescribing the legal stuff. They work for the federal guvment, and the feds still outlaw Mary Jane, considering it a "dangerous" narcotic. It's on the list of controlled substances.
Stupid? Yep! Counter productive? No doubt. But there ya go! The feds have adopted a hands off poicy towards Washington (for now), but for how long that'll last is anybody's guess. All it takes is one idiot crossing the line set up by the state, and legal weed goes away!
Colorado may be the last bastion...although nobody knows what their laws are out this way!

Young Poster Uke really is going to take it with him. Congratulations! Snippy's thinking he'd be spending that quarter large on some quality ganja.
Snippy is wondering how Poster Uke is going to spend it once they bury his crate? The death industry prefers that Poster Uke spend his long green on the crate, not burying it in the crate.
$250 is highway robbery. $200 more like it. This product you cant
just transfer to another individual and expect a payday. Maybe you
got lots but no buyers. Trying to get rid of LB's is still a risky time
for the growers. Growers always get nevous when it comes to
"getting their money". Likely will sell below going price just to get
some cash in their wallet. So while its $300 weed on the East Coast
its really $200 weed.

The generations after the "Flower-Children" (Neptune in Libra) went into other drugs like crack and meth and ecstacy because smoking pot just didn't do the job. So I dont know "who" besides the elder "Flower-Children" are "attracted to weed" today. Many generations with different tastes. Those with the Neptune in Libra placement in their chart are getting older...like grey hair. So some never missed a beat in the evolving drug culture and some had to drop-out of that culture to keep employment and other reasons. I went 10 years of "manditory sobriety" and thought about throwing my precious "Proto-pipe" in to a Lake but I decided otherwise. Turns out to be the right move as now in my state, its fine and dandy to own one.

WA has very high gas-taxes so we never know what
the price of gas is...really. Been hovering in the $3.79-
3.89 per gallon the last month. With all thats going on
in the world today $4-5 a gallon is the next
"crippler" to transportation.
Gas prices set record: 1,000 days above $3 a gallon
http://www.cnbc.com/id/101039695
$1.19 per liter = $4.50 per U.S. Gallon
Get used to it. You'll think it's a curse.
But you'll get used to it.
