Uke just cant resist a "pledge -drive" like I can. I've resisted
all the PBS TV channel pledge-drives. I've resisted pledging
to my favorite radio station in the world today...KPLU with
no guilt. AM and FM radio is what I listen to and its always
been free and thats the way I want to keep it.

Wonder if the same attitude applied to paying union dues?
Favorite station in the world today and no guilt about not contributing even a token amount to keep them on the air. Uke's got you portion of the tab.

Gladly paid my union dues while espousing why the new hires, and youngsters ought adopt the solidarity attitude of "all for one, and one for all..." Sadly the message fell on deaf ears, as LL-591 IAM leadership, and member participation has fallen off!
As to NPR, and KPLU, our local Puget Sound affiliate, I will continue supporting 'em! (At least as long as I reside here!) Proud to be a "member" of that club tu!

I always gladly paided my union dues every month due
to manditory automatic deduction from my paycheck.
My 26yrs on the railroad I paided my union dues.
It's nearly midnight on the 4th night of a 4-day "pledge-
drive to raise $440K" at the best radio/Jazz station on
radio today and they "got-it". I knew they could get it
done without me. All the radio personalities have a
"Firesign Theater" background and this pledge drive
had most laughing enough to pledge. Dick Stein, Robin
Lloyd, and all the rest got a good chance at humoring
the listeners. I enjoyed this pledge-drive as much as it
could be possible. Will appreciate normal programming
starting tomorrow.

Yep me tu! The number one, most annoying host... Abe Beeson! I can't stand the fucker! His voice, his on-air presence, his whole demeanor lessens my enjoyment experience! He comes across as if he alone discovered Jazz, or invented it himself!
What a fuckin' tool! The rest of the bunch I love! Dick Stein, Robin, Ruby, Nick Morrison, Kessler, Jim Wilke... They all shine, Beeson... Fuck him!

I agree with you on Abe Beeson, it's like he "reads"
everything he says. A very bland radio personality.
He can get away with it because its "late-nite" and
people are going to bed.
...for Krink and me, a little donation, or pledge sent via snail mail to our favorite public radio station!
