But I sure plan ta see it. Bruce Dern's always been an actor I can relate to. Don't ask me why. And Nebraska. I finished up my apprenticeship out there in Alliance, in 1981. BN furloughed me around Kersmuss. It was colder'n a witches tit...so I beat it!
But during my time in the state, I visited shitloads of small towns. Saw a Newer Cadillac get hit by a frozen sugar beet that punched a hole through the windshield. That hole was the size of your head... Guy was following that truck too close, and those beets were bouncing out all along their merry way ta the C&H (Western Sugar Co-op) Sugar plant in Scottsbluff.
That Caddy skidded off the road, into a ditch. Dumb ass! He got out ta survey the situation I guess. He was gonna hitch back into Alliance for help...
I like the people out there. Farmers. Ranchers. Railroaders. Most of 'em stay right there keepin' the place alive. I like that.

I'm damn sure halfway ta Scottsbluff, I wasn't about ta drive that idiot back to Alliance for a tow... And by the time he got there, he'd be lucky ta find the ONE tow truck in town!
And finding a beet truck... Hah! Good luck... Remember this was 1981. December! Nobody, back then anyway followed a beet truck closer than three cars back! At 60 per...sugar beets, frozen sugar beets can kill a grown man if yer unlucky enough ta get hit by one!
Nary a phone booth out there, and hardly any traffic! Western Nebraska. The road between Alliance and Scottsbluff...

I read a review for this movie last night, Uke, it sounded like a movie worth seeing, unlike most.

Yes, the Big Screen is still my favorite. I wonder what movie I will see on Christmas Day this year.

If the beet came off the truck, and whos to argue it didn't, where else would it have come from?
Clearly a case of the trucking company needing to pay for the windshield.
