You know the drill Uke...walking in the rain. I never use an umbrella to go get the mail/newspaper but I wished I had. Everywhere you walk its already "juicy". My lawn has had puddles in it the last few weeks and we are just getting warmed-up to the all-out assalt of wetness with the Jet-Stream "Kick". "Baton down the hatches Uke" as a storm is coming in. I pity the BNSF between Everett and Seattle as you know a new wave of mudslides are coming disrupting everything. Between Everett and Seattle is just one place but there could be a lot more before the week is over.

Nice day -15 this morning so I wore my TommY Bahama Hawaiian shirt with the steam trains on it under my lightweight winter jacket. Yeah it's a little grey out here , tu.

But not raining right?

Right. Not since early February. I'll take -30 preferred over rain right now, due to the amount of highway travel and obvious retrograde effects exacerbated with any amount of wet precipitation . No complaints.

And who would listen to your complaints anyway. I mean around your
town TW5K right now, how is the "mood" of everybody. Are some
noticing it being a more intense winter in a long time and "what" do
they blame it on. I'm guessing most you "pas" on "the" streets of town
are not "self-aware" or "celestially aware" so whats the consensus
as to why this "unlimited cold" keeps on going. Ya... who knows whats
shifts our normal weather patterns all over the place to the "point of
no return". I've read many different accounts as to how the next
"ice age" will start and it can happen in one years time. We got it
going right now as there is no let-up in the storms sweeping the
midwest and east coast containing lots of cold and snow. All kinds
of transportation problems. Mars goes retrograde to May 20th.
Mercury goes retrograde for the second time in 2014 June 7th.
Basically a 2-week gap in the retrograde parade that takes up
the whole first half of 2014. Now a summertime MIR influence
on the weather will be much different than it was in February.
But with every MIR period the weather will "warmer than average
or colder than average". Hotter/Colder, Wetter/Drier, Very windy/
no wind. So if this MIR period starting first week of June and we
are still struggling with late snowfalls around much of North America
and it keeps getting worse...time to be really concerned.

Yes, it's obvious that the winter is the most intense in a long time . A 35 year record falling away daily with the outcome of March possibly extending the process. Most of our friends and neighbours burning firewood to supplement the electric or gas have by now run out of wood and any seasoned product sold by firewood guys is at a premium. The more ambitious and able bodied, are "picking" cut lines in the bush along power lines or road for deadfall. You need a good 4x4 and a sled or quad for this sport. The northern municipalities are constructed with severe winter conditions to be presumed so the problems of burst and frozen water lines is much more severe down south. Winnipeg is brutal, 677 homes froze up, last count. Business as usual for north with a longer time frame. The mood is a general tiredness of the weather yet mitigated with a sense of toughness and perception of a shared experience that will likely be talked about for some time. That is, hoping next year is milder and we are not moving into the next "ice age". Compared to 35 years ago, better outerwear available, homeless shelters, thrift shops, more folks have vehicles. No one is freezing to death that did not influence their faith with a retrograde mental error, be it decide to walk home drunk, drive a highway without an emergency etc. I heard some young chick, the other night as I was zipping up to walk home from the cinema standing there in the lobby, to her beau with a remote car starter saying " let's just go ! I had Mom's car on the weekend had running for 15 minutes and it STILL wasn't very warm when we got in". Days are getting longer. This is a nice mood lifter. Thinking about the garden. That will probably be a late start. Might buy a portable mini greenhouse for the back porch to start seedlings.
