Tough ta critcize the guy now... After all the shit heaped on his grave already. Gotta say this though, the DD-214 received when separated fron ACDUTRA was typed on an ordinary typer, not a computer. If ya wanted a copy, ya printed it yourself OFF BASE!
We got ten minutes to review ours. That was '68, and there was THREE more ta finish my 'obligation' because draftees had a SIX year sentence.
Remember you were required by law, to register when you turned 18, to register for the draft. And you were obliged ta serve six years, if you were 18-26 you were subject to recall, as they called it! Funny how that shit worked. If your MOS was 'critical' you might be home having dinner, or bumping and grindin' away... Knock, knock! Hi were from the Dept. of defense; They need your skills. Right now. Get dressed troop!
Three active, three reserve... Received Honorable Discharge 12/71. Have original 214 in a lock-box. Reviewed, found a few errors as to name (sp), rank at sep. , and awards, medals. Never bothered to appeal. Never was a hero either.

I'm not criticizing the dude, I'm just calling out a bullshitter. I can't believe the amount of people coming back from Afghanistan/Iraq with a ton of shit hanging off their chest. Most a legit, but some are reject phukks that wanted all the glory but none of the guts. It's called Stolen Valor and is a federal crime.
It's pretty clear how he lied about the whole Jesse Ventura thing and now they find he embellished his record of medals? Why would anyone do that? For him, it was about selling a book and getting rich doing so. I don't know about you ***, but I'm proud of the medals I did receive however they are useless in any setting. They're not even worth enough for a cup of coffee.
Everyone in the military since 1982 has had their lives in a computer database. I joined in 1986 and spent 11 years in the Infantry with one combat tour in Israel. I have my original DD-214 as well however it contains a few errors and missing stuff. Nothing I cared about either. It says Honorable Discharge and that is the only thing anyone gives a shit about anyway.
Check out Don Shipley. He's busting these turds everyday!
Really don't know much about the Navy Seals. Same for the Marines, although we had 'em with us in several S and D missions in the same areas during the pre-Tet offensive... Got used to being asked what MOS...11-B. You know of course, and that's that!
Used ta be that DD-214 and and a quarter would get ya a cup of coffee. Now? Zip!

An old sergeant major once told me, "There are only two jobs in the Army. Either you're Infantry or you support the Infantry."
Could this turd tell the truth about anything? Another PX Ranger.
