When I first saw the video I couldn't believe it as a mile of C6 hoppers on their sides. Look to be new C6's and I was looking at the railroad tracks
and couldn't tell if the storm surge made this track look like a branchline used for storage. Since no railroad is mentioned I dig out my 1966 Official
Guide of the Railways to see what railroads go through Grand Lake La. None. Look at my 1992 OG and no Grand Lake La. Look at my RandMcnally
road atlas and no Grand Lake La. Look at Wikipedia and Grand Lake is south of Lake Charles on highway 384 which is just swamp. The only possibilty
is some ex-MOPAC branch that dint make the UP Merger. Somebody owns this track some private line making money storing railroad cars. They got
The Missouri Pacific served the Port of Lake Charles with a branch line, the Lake Charles Branch. Union Pacific acquired MP in 1982, and then acquired the Southern Pacific in 1995. Some time around the SP merger the Lake Charles-area lines were consolidated. A segment of the MP line was abandoned, due to lack of traffic and customers along the line. This segment had a junction installed with a remnant of SP's Lake Arthur branch. This abandonment also includes a reroute of the existing line around the Chennault Industrial Airpark with the extension of their main runway.

Thank you Mr Calvin for your research. As the TO thread got added to on this story someone said this is the "Harbor Industrial Lead"
of the UP/MOPAC from Lake Charles to Harbor 12.4 miles. So it looks like the UP will be cleaning this mess up. Is this the record for
most cars flipped over by wind?
LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) Port of Lake Charles board members have approved an agreement to allow Port Rail Inc.to be its rail carrier instead of Union Pacific, a move one official said will have less of an impact on residents during peak traffic hours.
Bill Rase, the ports executive director, said the decision gives the port more control over when the trains run and how many trains run at one time, something that could not be regulated under Union Pacific.
The American Press reports (http://bit.ly/1eOXZNb) the agreement allows the port to invest $1 million for Port Rail to begin operations. Rase said the port had already budgeted for the investment.
Port Rail will provide service for all entities that use the city docks, including the ports new grain elevator.

Just found another wind event in Conway TX 08-29-20 that blew over a UP Z-train by the looks of the cars. Just some first looks right after the storm. Near as I can figure Conway TX on the ex-RI Golden State Route. No story on TO yet. Fuck o'dear what a storm.

TO never posted a story on this Z-train "blow-over" in "Conway TX". My research project of the day... had I looked at my 1994 Rand McNally travel atlas first instead of the Official Guide of the Railways I could have found where Conway TX is on I-40 an exit to Panhandle TX due north on highway 60 and I had a pink highlighter penned the ex-ATSF now BNSF mainline route into Amarillo which is the BNSF "Panhandle Sub" which part of the Chicago to LA transcon. Later Sunday I see another YouTube video of railcars blown over near Amarillo and was thinking could there be "2-trains blown over" as I was still thinking UP on the "Conway" blow-over. Nope just one "blow-over" and its the BNSF Z-train blown off the tracks at Panhandle. With blow-overs the tracks are usually in good shape afterwards and that seems to be the case here. Must have be fun picking the mess of packages.

specifys storage rates, no mention of what happens when damage enters the picture. I'd guess
acts of nature would be exempt.
