EUGENE, Ore. -- A Eugene man is on the mend after being hit by a Union-Pacific train over the weekend. The 56-year-old victim apparently didn't see the train coming when he stepped onto the tracks, according to a Eugene police spokeswoman.
Police found no evidence that the man intended to be hit.
The victim was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene with injuries, where he was listed in fair condition.
Police also cited the man on a misdemeanor charge of first-degree criminal trespass.
