Coal mine's railroad spur put on fast track
pixel.gif
Construction of a long-anticipated railroad to carry coal from a mine near Roundup, Mont., to Eastern and Western markets has begun near Broadview, Mont., as Yellowstone County and railroad representatives signed an agreement. The railroad will take about a year to complete. The railroad will have a 5.7-mile loop at the mine to accommodate two 150-car unit trains; a loading facility to be built at the mine will be capable of handling 7,000 tons of coal per hour.

Proctor, WI huh? When did that border change happen?

Word on the rails is that the CN is going to close down Fon Du Lac and force those guys to Chicago. Our FDL guys are in the same league as the LaCrosse crews so this is a bit of poetic justice. Of course there's nothing to say that next year they won't close down our little outpost.

I thought Fond Du Lac was a hub of activity for the CN?

You still report to Pokey for work?
