Got this from a buddy, supposedly ad was in yesterday's Dallas paper.  Who knows, I looked at it and didn't see much opportunity for any hard working rails such as ourselves.

In our paper today is a full page add for qualified railroad workers, including engineers, supervisors and managers.  Plus side you get to travel to some place you most likely have never been but have wanted to go:  Australia!

And then there's this:

Norfolk Southern is One of the Best Places to Launch a Career

Last update: 2:00 p.m. EDT Sept. 12, 2008
NORFOLK, Va., Sept 12, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Norfolk Southern is one of the 50 "Best Places to Launch a Career," according to the Sept. 15, 2008, issue of BusinessWeek magazine.
BusinessWeek's annual list is based on a survey of U.S. employers, college career services directors, and some 40,000 college undergraduates. Norfolk Southern's place on the list improved from last year, and the magazine noted, "High oil prices wreaked havoc on everything from air carriers to freight delivery companies. The one beneficiary: rail."
"Railroading today is a growth industry," said Cindy Earhart, NS vice president human resources. "With our focus on safety and service, our light impact on the environment, and our efforts to build an inclusive workplace, we offer attractive career options with competitive compensation and benefits."

It sounds like a place for guys like us, friendly, helpful, and we'll get recognition, too. Where we all are now, we don't want too much recognition but they make it sound like a good thing, mate.
