Via TNR, National Review's Rich Lowry gives Sarah Palin's debate winks a rave review:

I'm sure I'm not the only male in America who, when Palin dropped her first wink, sat up a little straighter on the couch and said, "Hey, I think she just winked at me." And her smile. By the end, when she clearly knew she was doing well, it was so sparkling it was almost mesmerizing. It sent little starbursts through the screen and ricocheting around the living rooms of America. This is a quality that can't be learned; it's either something you have or you don't, and man, she's got it.

Rich Lowry

Rich Lowry is editor of the conservative biweekly magazine, "National Review".

Lowry, a 1990 graduate of the University of Virginia, where he edited "The Virginia Advocate", is known as one of the youngest and most influential conservative commentators and analysts in the country. He joined William F. Buckley's brainchild, "National Review" in 1992 and has been the magazine's editor since 1997.

His first book, "Legacy, Paying the Price for the Clinton Years" was published in 2003 and is a scathing portrayal of President Bill Clinton, his character, and his tenure in office.
