DYERSVILLE, Iowa - A train carrying ethanol derailed near the VeraSun Energy plant in Dyersville early this morning (Oct. 8), the Telegraph Herald reported.
A locomotive and six tank cars overturned from a Canadian National train southeast of the plant at 6:40 a.m., according to Dyersville assistant fire chief Al Wessels.
No injuries or leaks were reported. Salvage teams at the scene declined comment on the cause of the derailment._Wessels said the derailment is under investigation and his crews are in standby mode.
CN officials denied involvement with the incident.
Patrick Waldron, manager of public affairs for CN, said the derailment did not occur on company property nor did it involve CN personnel. Crews at the scene were sent to check the status of the track's main line, Waldron said.
"It's not our incident," Waldron said. "We have track that goes through Dyersville and the plant, but this did not occur on CN property. It's like you are calling me for another person's car accident."
Waldron said normal operations continue on CN's main line track.

Since we been stealing everyone elses locomotives lately, (just saw a BNSF 70MAC on a CN wayfreight), Hunter can probably say with all sincerety "It was an NS locomotive so it must have been NS."
