Has to be a harbinger. Interesting to see a current baseball
card. My last purchase was 1989. God what a fucking mistake
in timing buying any baseball cards period. 1987-1990 I bought
about a half a pickup truck full of baseball cards. I did also pickup
some of those elusive "traded sets" from 1986-87-88-89.
It was the time that several new comers to the baseball card
business showed up like Score, Upper Deck, and the revitalized
Bowman cards. Yeah I have about a dozen Upper Deck Griffey Jr's,
Randy Johnson's and several factory sets. The biggest blow has to
be with my Barry Bonds rookie cards that had the potential to be
worth big bucks. Who would of thunk that they would tank. It's
fucking amazing that all those hand collated sets I made Donruss,
Fleer, Topps, Upper Deck, Score, and Bowman from the late 80's
sell for around 10 bucks. 10 fucking bucks for a lot of hard work
spending a lot of money unwisely. Who would think they would
produce millions of each card during that time period thus making
none of them rare in any sense of the word. I'm at the point now to
see if I can get anything for any of my cards. I'm fortunate to still
have my childhood card collection from 1963-67 where there are
many Mickey Mantles, Roger Maris, Roberto Clemente, and a near
complete set of the rare 1963 Fleer cards. Wished I had that fucking
checklist for the '63 Fleer. Saw one at a baseball card show once but
it was missing a corner. I did procure the very rare Joe Adcock '63
Fleer card at a local baseball card shop many years ago. Yep I need to
see if the values posted in Becketts can be be realized or I need to
meet some bigtime buyer and see if 10 grand can be accomplished.
Go Rays!

Sorry, Wolfie, the Cards didn't make it this year. Cubs didn't, either, just in case you were wondering.
