CN worker killed on the job in Ontario THUNDER BAY, Ont. - A CN worker has died on the job, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) confirmed Friday (Dec. 5), the Thunder Bay Source reports. Terry Paradis, 45, of Hornepayne, Ont., died after a section of rail became dislodged from the rack and boom arm that had been holding it.
Workers on site tried to assist Paradis, who had been pinned under the section of rail that fell. Shortly after police and ambulance arrived, Paradis was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident began around 1 p.m. along a section of rail in Hillsport.
The OPP and CN police are investigating the incident with a representative from Labour Canada.
No criminal charges are expected at this time, the OPP said.
