You have to go with Sirius/XM to hear anything decent now.

For me, the only radio show I care about is the 3 hour
"Musique Eclectique" hosted by Claude Rajotte on Saturday
nights on CBC's "Espace Musique", all in French. Thankfully
the playlists are available in English. WindowsMedia.com only
has about 200-300 radio stations online for every form of music
on the planet if you have the patience to search through it all.
We're not used to having so much to choose from therefore
we easily give up.

Some technological advancements in the current music scene.

And this which is sure to be fresh off an alien craft.

Radio Canada or CBC whatever you want to call it, has some really good shows on that cover alot of wide types of music. The national broadcast system in New Zealand is good as well.

The neat thing about the CBC (radio) is they have a
staff of researchers that do an amazing job of narrowing
down, sifting, and I've always thought being a bit privilaged
in the newest things being delivered by laser express right
into their hands from all points on the globe. I can tell you
that I've had a lot of disappointments running to the local
record store looking to find songs/bands that I 've heard on
CBC. Part of the grand plan of the CBC is to play a certain per
centage of Canadian artists in every show. The Canadian
music scene is top notch and contributing some amazing music
and artists. It's been a strange deal during my record collecting
days that Canadian imports were the hardest to get your hands
on in the USA. The internet has made things much easier to
order the music but there is still the problem of USA radio stations
playing any music from Canadian artists. USA radio pretty much
sucks except for some college stations.

Krinker, the local College station KUMD in Duluth, does a really good 5 hour blues show. They find shit that never made it into the mainstream music scene, which is sad, because it was good shit!

I just downloaded John Fruschante's new album. For those of you who don't know John is the guitarist from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Not bad at all

Our local (Seattle-Tacoma) college station KPLU 88.5 has a 6 hour
blues show on Sat-Sun 6pm to midnight every week. It's pretty
good and KPLU has a website in which you can listen live and get a
playlist. I'm sorry to keep having to refer the CBC as the best
radio station in North America, but every Friday night on Espace
Music, the CBC French broadcast, Dan "the banana man" Behrman
has a 3 hour blues show on Friday nights (8pm-11pm EST) that
is the cream of the crop for a blues show. It doesn't really matter
if you understand French or not. This is the best blues show on radio.
Click on this link and click on "Emission du" (whatever date) to listen
to the broadcast and click on "musique diffusees" to get to the playlist
(in English) for the hours of 2000-2300. Behrman has a very deep blues
collection.

Tonights show yielded some good tunes.

Goodbye Mr. President

And to those of you experiencing bitter cold temperatures

and from last weeks show, althought the exact tunes are not
available on youtube, this is a CD worth having, the soundtrack
from the movie "Hot Spot" of which I own. John Lee Hooker
and Miles Davis...what more could you ask.

I'm kind of intrigued by this dude known as "Osborne".
Todd Osborne actually. Hails out of the Detroit area.
I really love this tune called "Downtown". You can click
on the playlist and get a several minute sampler. The YouTube
video on this page is worth watching also. The guy is bright
and sick and tired of what's out there to the point of creating
his own music.
