So I'm nearing 65yrs old and listening to music has changed over the years. You had your
favorite FM station and favorite times to listen but that is no more. Station is gone and formats
change. No more cool/interesting DJ's around. You are really on your own to forward your music
desires. Thankfully Comcast has the "MC Music Choice Channels" and the best electronic music ch/
station ever "The Pulse" and the best jazz station/ch ever too. They dig deeper into their respective
catagories and no ads or mindless dribble to interrupt your thought. Most of the time when I listen
"to the TV" (switch to my Hi-Fi Stereo 100 watts RMS soundbar) and this music is wonderful.

Write down the artist and name of the song which is easy to do because its on my TV. No waiting around
for a DJ to tell you in 15 minutes or so. Here are a few of my current "like" tunes.

Although it's been about a year...one short blink in the cosmic eye, it seems like a lot longer! What a gap Tom left us to try to fill, which in itself will never happen!

Saw a story in the entertainment section of the local newspaper about a musician coming
to play at the Edmonds Center for Arts Oct 18 one "Kaki King". Has a picture of her playing the
guitar and she has radiation colors streaming from her. Thinking maybe the next Laurie Anderson.
Been wanting to look up Kaki King and got a chance tonight. When it comes to musicians they can
have strange/unorthodox lives. Its never mattered to me being a record buyer if the music is great
you can be pretty strange looking and the rest. So looking at Kaki King for the first time I never would
have guessed her life to now. A "flaming gay woman" that is a genius with the guitar. Its way more
than that as this is a soul with some very advanced skills/ideas. I found a few examples of her work
but need to listen to the rest as she has 7 albums released.

During my youth without my own radio yet or my first record player from 1960 forward I listened to what my folks
played/listened to. They loved C&W but also liked some of "popular" artists. The Brothers 4 had some great music
in the early 60's before the Beatles. As a kid I always liked "Greenfields" not because I liked the lyrics as the lyrics
above my head or dint matter. It was the "moodyness" of the song or "sweet sadness" that I seemed to resonate with
before I'm 10-11yrs old. Micheal Stipe did the song with an electronic band and it ended up where I would hear it.
The lyrics to this song is everything now to me plus the moodyness it creates. The song is going through my head as
I'm cleaning up after dinner washing dishes. Could be a MIR thing.

Hear/see something new everyday hopefully and today I saw my first "Harp Twins" video. Camille and Kennerly are identical twins
born in America. A quick check to find out more like their birthday and they are somewhat secretive I find out. No age, no birthdate,
no last names. They are both 5'6" and worth a billion bucks according to Wikipedia. Perhaps some member not locked out of facebook
can check their page for a little more bio. They really like to cover heavy metal songs as well some other favorites. This is something new
to me a harp small enough to carry over-shoulder and do dance moves and look sexy. Think you need to see/hear the "Harp Twins".

Never heard of the "Hilton Sisters" until tonight. Singing Siamese Twins in the early 1950's and somehow its on YouTube.
Must be tough being Siamese twins. Both "twin great singers" how about that. Then there is the "Del Rubio Triplets" which
made into the spotlight in mid 1950's and a long running career. Don't think the Everly Brothers were twins.

Hear Miles Davis Breezy, Newly Completed Paradise From Lost Eighties Album

 

Track comes from trumpeters long-shelved 1985 LP Rubberband which will finally come out in full in September

 

 

Got the news on streamed listener funded radio.

Some heavy hitters participated in the resurrection.

"Paradise" is nice.

Been a while since Rolling Stone was purchased @ this house.

Been a fan of Miles for a long time. Probably when I first heard him with Coltrane and others in quintet setting, or big band. The cat was ever evolving, and never stopped to ta break!

I dug a little deeper into Rolling Stone, and yeah the newly restored album of original music from Rubberband recordings will hit 'record stores' Sept. 2019  Alrighty!

I'm your Miles Davis "enthusiast" as I have the entire vinyl collection of over 80+LP's and most of it again on CD's.
Saw him in Seattle at the Paramount during the "tutu tour". Think my Miles Davis collection is pretty well set.
Any new to us releases not likely "OMG" Miles Davis. Still give it a listen anyway.

If you listen to jazz on the radio you have heard the name "Joey Alexander". I mean going back last 5yrs of hearing that name
and extraordinary piano playing. I guess I dint get the memo that he is only 11yrs old playing piano like some re-incarnated genius.
Actually started playing jazz tunes on the piano at 5yrs old. Born June 25 2003 so that means he's 16 now. And he does "My Favorite Things".

"The Steel Guitar"...love it or hate it. Growing up my folks loved C&W music and my mom loved Hawaii music.
50's-60's C&W songs probly 60% had a steel guitar beginning which I got sick of. So fucking predictable.
Well I took a few minutes on YouTube's collection of examples where the steel guitar is not so predictable.
Pete Drake and Barbara Mandrell and Sarah Jory and a killer version of Apache.

I've always loved electronic music. Never know quite know how they make all the cool sounds. Sometimes you find out that
all that sound coming from 2 people playing some new electronical/computer devices...or one person. Many times "band names"
are just one person...a very talented one person who seems to have an endless amount of musical talent and operate the 100's
of buttons on a console of sorts and make it all work to the point of "unbelievable". Reinhardt Buhr has to be one of the best at
the "Boss RC505 Loop Station". There are others...
