Its Thanksgiving Eve (USA) and I was thinking of the perfect music for your "virtual Thanksgiving Day dinner".
"Cumbia" of some kind should get the party rolling. I found some in a brief search and this is just a taste. Just a taste.

I never heard of Sarah Jory before. She popped out of a Youtube recommended list and glad she did.
Steel guitar and slide guitar expert from the UK I think. She's been around a while and I can hear/see why.
The 1st video I never thought you could put "facial English" into steel guitar playing but she's got some "good face".
The 2nd video is a live "Amazing Grace" in which she plays the slide guitar. Takes a minute or two to get going
but a splendid example of her great playing. Last but not least she does a remarkable take on the Titanic theme
which always gets to me. Sarah Jory has much material on Youtube so if you like check her out.

Back in the early 1990's CBC's "Brave New Waves" in the darkest hours of the night played things you
never heard before. Back then I was taping the show every night and one show featured some tracks
from a guy I knew from NRBQ one David Greenberger who has created a new niche. The Duplex Planet
double CD came out about 1990 and Brave New Waves played some. Tracks I want to share with you right
now but no one has downloaded the CD to Youtube yet. Duplex Planet is a nursing home and David visits
and interviews residents and puts their stories on a record/track accompanied by excellent background music.
Its funny and enjoyable and hard to find. You can take a chance and buy it at Amazon used for $1.49 if you
are looking for something to get your order free shipping. So I found some newer offerings by David Greenberger
which have a different background music but still going with Duplex Planet residents stories which are always interesting.
I can listen to David talk all day.

There is someone in the world I know that listened to Brave New Waves besides me. Maybe Steam did.
I got about 500 shows on tape from 1985 to 1995. After 1995 I still record the show on vhs tape and
just edited out the stuff I liked which formed my "Free Music Series" tapes which stopped at #196.
Working at the bridge nights I had Brave New Waves on. My JVC ghetto blaster picked up Vancouver BC
easily. You had to up in the darkest hours of the night to listen to this show which I was. Brent Bambury
was the fast talking brainy host that seemed to know everything about the lastest music never before played.
I can appreciate that. Brent left BNW for CBC TV gig. Then it was Patti Schmidt. I really miss that show.

I stumbled across this on YouTube which is a little long but amusing and cool. May take several viewings to get
through it. "Star Trek Acid Party".

What a fantastic find TW. So something this great can be done with a network of musicians hooked up to do a song. I love it.
