If Phoenix can't support their NHL Coyotes then they should be moved to a town where they're wanted. For instance Winnipeg maybe ? Forget about Ontario. Bettman won't let that happen because the Sabres rely heavily on Canadian fans border hopping to see a game. A 15,000 seat building full up is still better than a 20,000 seat place half empty. C'mon Bettman and governors, do the right thing eh. For once. (as soon as Merc-retro is over with)

Hamilton, Winnepeg, what's the difference. Canada is hockey nutso. Recall in the very early Fall 2008 where CBC had a contest for a new theme for "Hockey Night in Canada" for the coming hockey season. I followed the contest for quite a while but missed out on who won. Hockey surrounds me at times but for the most part I don't care. I want my Canadian friends to be happy. If they can regain a lost team, then that's what I want too.

Hamilton will be in a market saturated by the NHL with Toronto, Ottawa and Buffalo.
Doesn't sound a whole lot different than pro sports between NY, Philly, Washington DC, Baltimore, Boston. I would say those cities are close to each other. I heard about the Hamilton relocate on ESPN. It could be bullshit or the gospel. Sure Hamilton could support a NHL hockey team. No worries about close proximity, just means a heated rivalry is born. Hamilton has nearly 700,000 people in the city and the burbs. (that all love hockey)

Much larger markets....The NY/NJ market has 3 NHL teams....NJ & NY Rangers draw well......NY Islanders are less of a draw. The Ontario area only Toronto is the big market. Ottawa & Buffalo are medium size markets.
The mega east coast markets ejected the Hartford Whalers in the mid '90's...sitting between Boston & New York didn't help.
