Sometime or another I'm going to have to go to Australia
mainly because my step-daughter resides there. Of course
I need something to do besides chit chat and the usual
touristy things. The railroads of Australia look very interesting to
me. The hodge-podge of oddball power and slightly different
rolling stock would make for some great moments trackside
with a camera.

Okay Krink. First set of power sure looked like somethin' akin ta the last Alcos built. Maybe outa Canada MLW plant. There used ta be an all Alco site run by a German guy, Rolf Stumph, or somesuch...his site had pics of Alcos used on Australian rails!

When ya gonna do this little trip of yourn?

They probably run on the wrong side of the tracks, like the C&NW and DM&IR used to do. That all changed when mighty Missabe discovered single track, and the UP discovered the C&NW.

When am I going to go there? I don't know. I don't travel well
these days. I can't image being in an airplane seat (all cramped up)
for 15 hours. I need to get a passport first. Not sure a trip to
the land down under is in my destiny. It could be a wonderful
expierence but for some reason I'm dragging my heels.
