Racine, Wis. - Nick Krupp will not be having hot dogs any time soon after finding the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile protruding out of the side of his home Friday.
Mount Pleasant police said the 22-year-old driver was trying to turn the beloved Wienermobile around using the residents driveway. The driver thought she was moving in reverse when she really drove forward into the garage and deck of the two-story home, crack in the foundation.
Fortunately, no one was home and no one was injured in this bizarre accident.
Oscar Mayer spokeswoman Sydney Linder says insurance will cover the damage done to both the Wienermobile and the Krupp home.
Police Chief Tim Zarzecki said responding officers were not told what kind of vehicle was involved in the accident. "It was a little bit of a surprise when they arrived," Zarzecki said.
Neighbor Tom McCauley, 66, said he was sitting in his living room when he saw the notorious Wienermobile drive past. He stepped out of his home to get a better look, only to find the giant hot dog in a pickle. McCauley quickly snapped photos of the crash. Im sure well be talking about this for a while, McCauley said.
