The MILW crossed over the GN/BN in Bellingham 4 times within
a mile of trackage. Each crossing had slapboards that when thrown
required a 5 minute wait. Are these things still around these days?

Speaking of Upper Bay......a couple of weeks ago some Selkirk boys went across that bridge and had an uneventful short trip....to about halfway through the Bergen Tunnel....there they found a drunk bimbo in her Lexus stuck in the middle of the tunnel.....she said her GPS told her to go that way.

Those "tennis rackets" are called "SMASHBOARDS". They are so connected to the Absolute Signal protecting the bridge that they deploy into the path of an oncoming train when the signal is STOP.
This, smashing of the board against the Front of the Engine awakens the crew to fully appreciate the one of a kind 6 Flags ride about to ensue.
