Hunt Transport Services, Inc. announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement with Norfolk Southern Corp. to develop a new intermodal transportation contract to provide both parties a platform to accelerate the conversion of traditional truck traffic to cost-effective, environmentally friendly intermodal transportation with service that is competitive with truckload moves.

Interesting when a half dozen TOFC trains arrive daily in the
big cities, that their cargo immediately hits the clogged freeways
only to make things worse.

They would have been on the highway anyway.  Now they will only clog the freeway for 10% of the time.  At least thats what thy say.

I wonder if that's the same million trucks that the Conrail acquisition was going to take off the highways, so now we're taking off another million. That's why the highways are so empty, a million ten years ago and another million sometime in the near future. What an accomplishment!!!!!!!!!!! Until you hit town.
