MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Norfolk Southern Railroad, which has a spur line to Prattville, has joined the U.S. Green Building Council, a non-profit environmental group, according to the Montgomery Advertiser.
"Railroads are the most environmentally friendly means of moving goods that move the economy," CEO Wick Moorman said in a news release.
"Norfolk Southern's goal is to lead the industry in emissions reduction, efficient energy use and environmentally focused public-private partnerships."
