A railroad worker has filed suit against BNSF Railway Co., alleging he suffered great physical and mental pain after inhaling chemicals while working, the Southeast Texas Record reports.
Sean Gaffney claims he was working for BNSF on May 27, 2008, when he was injured after being exposed to chemicals.
(Gaffney is a member of Local 1957, Silsbee, Texas.)
In addition to his physical and mental pain, Gaffney experienced suffering and anguish, lost wages and benefits and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed March 25 in Jefferson County District Court. He also suffered from physical impairment, the suit states.
BNSF negligently failed to provide Gaffney with a safe place to work, the complaint says.
In his complaint, Gaffney is seeking a judgment within the jurisdictional limits of Jefferson County District Court, plus post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
