DM&E seeks train, engine workers

Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern General Chairperson Phil Craig says the carrier is seeking experienced conductors and engineers at hubs in Huron and Rapid City, S.D.

Applicants must be a licensed railroad locomotive engineer or experienced conductor to be considered for the positions.

Temporary and permanent term employment opportunities for qualified train conductors and locomotive engineers are available at various locations throughout South Dakota, Iowa and Kansas City, Mo.

Temporary assignments are estimated to last between three and 12 months -- depending on location and actual traffic levels.

Permanent assignments are expected to last more than twelve months -- but are also subject to furlough and/or termination based on employee performance, the needs of the service, and applicable rules of the relevant labor agreements.

To apply, visit the DM&E Web site at www.dmerail.com, click on the "Employees" link, then click on the "Job Opportunities at DM&E," and then click on the job that interests you.

The job description will have a link to download the employment application. Complete the job application and send the completed form to Ms. Marlene Elko by mail, fax, or e-mail.

By U.S. mail, send applications to: Ms. Marlene Elko, Attn: 2010 Hiring Programs, DM&E Railroad, P.O. Box 1260, Sioux Falls, SD 57101-1260.

By e-mail, send applications to: Marlene_Elko@cpr.ca.

Or, fax applications to (605) 782-1174.

The DM&E is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.

The DM&E offers a competitive package of benefits.

The DM&E Railroad operates over 2,500 miles of track serving over 200 communities across eight states.
